Solo brunch and mushroom soup at Apgujeong brunch café Le Bon Goûter

In short

Le Bon Goûter is a French galette brunch café in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul, an 8-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5 and close to Dosan Park. Every seat was already taken at 11am on a weekday, and a window table made room for a solo meal of salmon galette at 23,000 won, mushroom soup at 8,000 won and an orange ade. Le Bon Goûter is easy to enjoy alone, but the terrace and the interior make it a place worth returning to for a date.

On my last free weekday before starting work, I headed to Apgujeong Rodeo in the morning for brunch at this well-known spot, Le Bon Goûter — here's my solo dining review! It was comfortable enough to eat alone, but once I got there, I actually found myself wishing I'd come with a date instead.

Even at 11am on a weekday, the place was already completely full, and I spotted quite a few foreign customers too — way more popular than I expected. Best of all, instead of the usual brunch menu, you can get French-style galettes here, so I'd definitely recommend it as an Apgujeong brunch spot worth trying~

How to get to Le Bon Goûter: 8 minutes from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5

Le Bon Goûter was about an 8-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5, and I liked that it was close to Dosan Park in Apgujeong!

It's in a great location if you're looking to grab brunch around Apgujeong Rodeo, and even from the outside it had the feel of a small French café.

Right next to the entrance was this lush green terrace seating area. On a nice day, eating brunch outside here would set a lovely mood — it seemed perfect for a date course.

The interior had wood-toned furniture with vintage tables and chairs, giving it an overall cozy feel. Rather than looking elaborately decorated, it felt natural, like a small European café — personally, I liked that even more.

I visited alone that day and ate leisurely by the window — eating solo didn't feel awkward at all, and I thought this would be a place I'd love to come back to with my partner for an Apgujeong date next time.

Le Bon Goûter menu and prices

  • Salmon galette ₩23,000
  • Steak and French fries ₩49,000
  • Mushroom soup ₩8,000

From salads to pasta, lasagna, soup, various sandwiches, desserts, and even four types of galette — the menu was quite extensive.

When you think of brunch, eggs benedict or sandwiches usually come to mind first, but here you can get galette (French buckwheat crepe), which made it a good choice when I wanted something a bit different.

Salmon galette, 23,000 won: the brunch dish to order

What I picked was the signature salmon galette! It's a buckwheat galette generously topped with smoked salmon and a mixed salad.

First off, the galette itself was much softer than I expected, and the combination of smoky salmon with the vegetables worked really well together.

It's not just plain salmon on top — you also get salad, tomato, onion, and more all together in one bite, which I liked~

The buckwheat galette itself is light, so even topped with salmon and vegetables it never felt heavy — perfect for a weekday morning brunch.

Mushroom soup, 8,000 won: smooth and creamy

The side dish I ordered alongside — mushroom soup! The mushrooms were blended very finely, so there was no gritty texture, just smoothness.

It wasn't watery at all — nicely thick with a real, properly present mushroom flavor, exactly what I'd picture as the definitive mushroom soup! Galette alone might have felt a bit lacking, but ordering a warm soup alongside rounded out the brunch really well.

Orange ade: the refreshing pick

For a drink, I went with orange ade. It wasn't overly sweet, so it paired well with the galette and gave a nice refreshing finish.

Le Bon Goûter for solo brunch or for a date?

I could totally understand why Le Bon Goûter was fully booked even at 11am on a weekday. (Lunch peak hours tend to have a wait.) It was great for enjoying brunch alone at a relaxed pace, but thinking about the terrace and the interior atmosphere, I'd personally recommend it more as an Apgujeong date spot! Next time, I want to come back with my partner instead of eating alone and try some of the other galette options.
