Trying to figure out lunch with coworkers, I ended up at Kkamon, a pho spot near Jeongja Station in Bundang I hadn't been to in a while ~!

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a pho spot near Jeongja Station that always has a wait during lunch. Still, since we arrived a little earlier than the usual lunch rush, we only waited about 3 minutes before getting seated.

There are so many good restaurants near Jeongja Station that picking a lunch spot is always a task haha!

What pho does Kkamon have on the menu?

Kkamon offers more than just regular pho — pork backbone pho, boiled meat pho, mala pho, cold pho, and more, so there's real variety. This is a place I've already visited several times, so I know exactly what's good haha. Unlike a typical pho shop, you can try some unusual pho menus here!

We ordered three main dishes plus one side. There were three of us. We got Kkamon pho, mala pho, bánh mì sandwich, and fried chicken wings.

Is Kkamon's bánh mì sandwich close to Vietnamese bánh mì?

We ended up ordering mostly things we hadn't tried before. First time getting the bánh mì! I remember eating bánh mì in Vietnam and loving it 😢 it's making me nostalgic again. Kkamon's bánh mì sandwich has crispy bread packed full of fillings!

It's loaded with meat, so even one is enough to fill you up nicely — perfect for a simple lunch. Actually, someone at the table who really knows food ate this and raved that it's the closest thing to real Vietnamese bánh mì they've had haha lol. Kkamon's bánh mì... I have to admit it 👍👍

Are Kkamon's fried chicken wings worth adding as a side?

Kkamon's fried chicken wings are a side dish that comes out freshly fried. Served hot right out of the fryer, they were so good.

Crispy outside, juicy inside — great to eat alongside the pho. Honestly we finished them before the pho even arrived because they were that good lol. They work great as an appetizer like we had them, or alongside the meal, so I'd recommend adding one when you order a side. We really enjoyed them haha.

How is Kkamon's mala pho different from malatang?

What I got was the mala pho! Kkamon's mala pho combines the clean, light taste characteristic of pho with the numbing kick of mala, giving it a distinctly different feel from regular pho. It's not as intense as mala tang, so it's not overpowering and easy on the stomach.

Why does everything look so delicious once mala is involved... I'm someone who loves mala too much, so I had to order this out of curiosity about the pho-and-mala combo!

It really did have tofu skin like real mala tang, plus plenty of bean sprouts and meat — I enjoyed it a lot. Take a spoonful of the broth and, oof.. 👍👍 If you're like me and love both pho and mala tang, this is a menu worth trying! Highly recommend.
