Baegya Coffee
I went on a trip to Gangneung! It was short, but when you're in Gangneung, you can't skip an ocean-view café, right? So here's a pretty ocean-view café I found, where both the coffee and bread were delicious — Baegya Coffee, a large bakery café with an ocean view in Gangneung!
Where is Baegya Coffee, and is there parking at Sageunjin Beach?
Baegya Coffee, a large bakery café in Gangneung, sits directly across from Sageunjin Beach. So naturally you can play at the beach and then head to the café, or have coffee at the café and then go dip your feet at the beach — such a great location! And since it's right in front of the sea, do I even need to say anything about the ocean view?!
Parking is available both in front of and behind the café, so it's convenient with plenty of spots!!
Baegya Coffee floor by floor: order on 1F, ocean views up to the 4F rooftop
Baegya Coffee, this large bakery ocean-view café in Gangneung, has floors up to the 4th usable as café space, with ordering and pickup on the 1st floor. But there are also tables on the 1st floor, so you can sit and drink your coffee there too. The 4th floor is set up as a rooftop where you can drink coffee outdoors while looking at the ocean view.
If you want to enjoy the ocean view indoors, the 2nd and 3rd floors are the way to go. So I went up to the 3rd floor, and it had floor-to-ceiling windows with a great view of the sea — the moment I walked in, the pretty scenery put me in a good mood.
There was also a restroom indoors, a microwave for warming up bread, and even takeout bags for wrapping up leftover bread — really nice touches.
Why the Baegya Coffee terrace is a no-kids zone
What's especially nice about Baegya Coffee is that each floor has a long terrace, and being out on the terrace brings you even closer to the sea. The 2nd and 3rd floors aren't no-kids zones, but the terrace is!!
The day I visited, the weather was so nice that it was perfect for sitting outside on the terrace. Drinking coffee while looking at the pretty sea — I think that's a must-do part of any trip.
What the 4th-floor rooftop at Baegya Coffee feels like
And then, up to the 4th-floor rooftop! The moment you step in, there's bright sunlight, and if you turn your head to the right, you see the wide-open sky and sea!
I felt like photos here would turn out really pretty, and the colorful tables and chairs on the rooftop made everything look even prettier! It seems like for the next month or two, you can sit up here on the 4th-floor rooftop enjoying this pretty scenery while drinking coffee — plenty of reason to visit this large bakery ocean-view café in Gangneung!!
Personally, after visiting Baegya Coffee, I went straight to Sageunjin Beach right in front, dipped my feet in the water, took a bunch of photos, played around, and then headed back to my accommodation!! I think it's a great location for both getting in the water and having good coffee at a café.

Since Baegya Coffee is a large bakery café, there's a wide range of desserts and baked goods, and for the coffee, you could choose decaf along with either acidic or nutty beans.
Being a large bakery café, Baegya Coffee had a lot of delicious-looking bakery items and desserts, with cakes ranging from cherry to yogurt to chocolate.
The bakery lineup was also varied, from dessert-worthy breads like pecan tart, mont blanc, and chestnut pastry to meal-worthy breads like basil tomato, longe longe, and pepperoni pizza pastry.
On the other side, there were also tempting baked goods — yogurt muffins, chocolate muffins, and other muffins, along with financiers and other assorted baked treats.

Is the decaf latte at Baegya Coffee watery?
Since it's a large bakery café, I had high expectations for the bread but not really for the coffee — but the coffee turned out to be really good?! The latte wasn't watery at all, which I loved, and the vanilla latte wasn't too sweet either, with the vanilla flavor coming through while you could still taste the coffee — and best of all, the vanilla latte wasn't watery either!
And they're good at bread here too?! Honestly, I figured a pastry with cream cheese plus blueberry compote would just taste like what you'd expect, but the pastry itself was delicious, so I enjoyed it a lot!! That's it for my review of Baegya Coffee, where you can get delicious coffee and bread along with a pretty ocean view!
