Coffee Dripper by the Nanseolheon-ro walking path
Wood-toned exterior and location

As you walk along the peaceful Nanseolheon-ro path, Coffee Dripper’s neat wood-toned exterior is the first thing to catch your eye. It makes a great dessert stop after Chodang sundubu (soft tofu) or Gangneung jang kalguksu (spicy noodle soup).

It has such a cute yet warm feel that it makes you want to drop in casually as you pass by. Natural sunlight filters in at the front, and the café feels wonderfully open thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and it is closed every Tuesday. It is a 10-minute walk from Gangmun Beach, so it is lovely for a stroll, and just a five-minute drive from Gyeongpo Beach.

There is dedicated parking beside the café, with a generous roughly 13 spaces available.
An interior where sunlight meets warm wood tones

When you open the door and step inside, the warm wood tones and soft lighting create a calm, comfortable atmosphere.

Neatly placed plants and cute little objects throughout make the space feel even more serene. The plants were so pretty that I wanted to bring one home, too.

There is a bar table by the floor-to-ceiling windows. With sunlight pouring through the wide glass, it is just right for taking your time.

There is also a sunny outdoor area, which was perfect for sitting and chatting in this pleasantly cool weather. It is a great café for a relaxed date in Gangneung.

The tables are generously spaced, making it nice for talking during a trip or unwinding with a book. We were even able to catch up on our overdue diary entries and enjoy an unhurried moment. There are plenty of outlets here and there, so it seems great for laptop work, too.

Coffee Dripper also has a goods section. They sell cute T-shirts, pretty cups, and their own blended drip bags. It turns out this is a roasting specialist that has been around since 2012. If you are interested in coffee beans, you can also buy them through SmartStore.
Coffee Dripper’s menu and our order

There were lots of Dripper signature items. Options include the Dripper Signature Cream Latte, the visually striking Cone Chocolate Latte, tofu pudding, Dripper House Blend drip coffee, lattes, ades, and homemade patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans), among others.

For desserts, there are financiers, chocolate cruffins, and black sesame cruffins.

We focused on the signature menu items for our order.

We chose the Dripper Signature Cream Latte, Dripper House Blend, and black sesame cruffin.

Everything arrived neatly arranged on a wooden tray, and it suited the café’s atmosphere so well.

The clean finish of the Dripper House Blend
The Dripper House Blend is ₩8,000, a signature drip coffee balanced with the café’s own expertise. It is on the pricier side, but one sip made the price understandable.

It had a well-balanced body and a slight acidity, with a clean finish. Rinsing your palate with the pine needle tea served alongside makes it perfect. It was also a flawless match for the cruffin dessert.

It comes with coffee ice, so even as it melts, the drink stays enjoyable.

Homemade cream latte and black sesame cruffin
The Dripper Signature Cream Latte is ₩6,500, with thick, nutty homemade cream resting over a bold espresso base. It is smooth and nutty in a way that instantly lifts your mood! Drink it as it is without stirring for an extreme creaminess—this is truly a signature drink.

The black sesame cruffin we chose for dessert was ₩5,500. It is a dessert you absolutely have to try when you come to Gangneung!

The outside is crisp and the inside moist, with rich, nutty black sesame cream generously tucked between every layer of the cruffin.
One bite brings an explosion of nutty black sesame flavor and crisp croissant layers. It was a flavor I had never tried before, yet one that anyone could enjoy without hesitation! Paired with the clean Dripper House Blend, the balance of sweetness and nuttiness was spot-on.
Coffee Dripper is a café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung, where you can enjoy carefully made house-blend coffee, a smooth Signature Cream Latte, and the distinctive, beautifully executed black sesame cruffin! I recommend it to anyone on a date near Gyeongpo Lake or looking for a relaxed, quiet break.
