Basement bar near Jamsil Station, two anju for ₩56,000: Jojomomo
In short
Jojomomo is a basement Korean dining bar in Bangi-dong, a short walk from Jamsil Station in Songpa, Seoul. On a return visit, two people ordered cream tteokbokki (rice cakes in cream sauce) with steamed scallops and gamtae seaweed for 27,000 won, pollock roe cheese potato jeon for 19,000 won, and two draft Cass beers for 10,000 won, coming to 56,000 won in total. This is a place I visited once, so long ago I can barely remember it, but it suddenly popped into my head and I went back after all this time. I remembered the anju (drinking snacks) being seriously delicious back then, and sure enough, it still was. It's in Bangi-dong and close to Jamsil Station too, so it's a really accessible Jamsil bar — this is <Jojomomo>!

What Jojomomo looks like inside, and where to sit
Jojomomo is a basement spot — you head downstairs to get in. There are quite a few decently priced bars around here too, so this area of Bangi-dong seems like a good place for a drink in general. Personally I really loved this vibe.

Dim enough to feel cozy, almost like a hideout! Rather than a loud, rowdy bar, this is the kind of moody spot that suits a quiet drink.

There's also a bar table that's great for drinking solo.

Two anju for two people at Jojomomo: what it cost
At Jojomomo, two of us ordered two anju plus two draft beers, coming to 56,000 won total. Everything on the menu looked delicious, so it was pretty hard to choose. There are a lot of distinctive dishes, and overall a lot of Korean-style anju. You can also check menu photos on the Naver Place listing. We didn't want to eat too much, so we kept it simple with two anju plus a draft beer for my friend.

Welcome drink and free starters at Jojomomo
They also give you a welcome drink by default when you order alcohol. I can't drink, so only my friend had it, but it seemed like a pretty strong traditional liquor. And for basic side dishes, you get potato salad and cream crackers. You know how these simple things are weirdly addictive... the kind of taste that makes you keep reaching for more!

Two draft Cass beers, 10,000 won. The draft looked cold and delicious.

And the two dishes we ordered came out almost at the same time.

Cream tteokbokki with scallops and gamtae, 27,000 won

This is a dish I actually had way back on my old visit too, and it left a strong impression even then. So this time I told myself I absolutely had to order it again. Just look at that visual, right?

It's loaded with gamtae (dried seaweed flakes) and scallops, in a soft cream sauce topped with cheese. And the rice cake isn't just any rice cake — it's the adorable jorangi tteok (knot-shaped rice cake).

It also comes with bushman bread for dipping. This combo is seriously delicious. Cream sauce with bushman bread is just an unbeatable pairing that never gets old!

The cream sauce also has cheongyang chili in it, so it's subtly spicy and never feels heavy. And more than anything, it's such a distinctive dish that you probably won't see it anywhere else, so I highly recommend it. The gentle salty umami of the gamtae, the nuttiness of the cream, the richness of the cheese, the chewiness of the rice cake, the spice of the cheongyang chili... honestly, the combination of every ingredient just hit my exact taste.

Pollock roe cheese potato jeon, 19,000 won

True to its name, this one's really packed with pollock roe. It's not the myeongnan mayo style — there's a good amount of actual roe in there, which I liked even more. It's loaded with cheese too, giving it a bit of a pizza-like feel... and instead of a regular potato jeon made from grated potato, this one's made with thinly sliced potato, which gave it a really nice texture. Crispy yet chewy, and especially the edges were crispy almost like a cracker.

The portion was more generous than I expected, but it was so good we polished it off in no time.
Who Jojomomo in Bangi-dong suits best
A great-atmosphere Jamsil bar, <Jojomomo>! Both dishes were really delicious — the cream tteokbokki and gamtae scallop steam that's nutty, spicy, rich and creamy all at once, and the salty, crispy, chewy, nutty pollock roe cheese potato jeon. The cream tteokbokki and gamtae scallop steam especially tastes as good as it looks, so I highly recommend it. If you're looking for an atmospheric bar for a date around Bangi-dong or Jamsil, or a Jamsil bar for drinks with friends, I'd definitely recommend this place.
