Mutton masala lunch for two at Sinchon Indian restaurant Meno Kamena

In short

Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch is an Indian curry restaurant on the second floor of a building near Sinchon Station in Seodaemun, Seoul. On a weekday lunch, two diners ordered tandoori chicken, mutton masala, palak paneer, aloo paratha and cheese naan for ₩43,000 in total, working out to one curry and one bread each. The soft potato filling in the aloo paratha, the chewy cheese naan and the mutton masala with no gamey smell made Meno Kamena Sinchon a place where nothing on the table disappoints.

I really, really love Indian curry, and when the craving hits me out of nowhere, I have to go eat it right away... if I don't, it just keeps nagging at me! So I went to <Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch>, a Sinchon favorite.

Even though I went a bit earlier than the usual weekday lunch rush, plenty of people were already eating. Looking around, the space is spacious with large tables, so it looked like a good spot for group gatherings or work dinners in Sinchon. The seating was well spaced overall and comfortable for a relaxed meal.

What's on the menu at Meno Kamena Sinchon?

Once seated, I was honestly surprised by how huge the menu was — all kinds of curries, appetizers, set menus, and a big variety of naan too.

The curry selection alone had a wide range to choose from depending on your taste — chicken, lamb, vegetable curries, and more.

There were also a lot of naan varieties I'd never seen before, which made me want to order a little of everything.

On top of that, the menu just kept going — biryani, pasta, stir-fried noodles, lassi and drinks, even desserts...

We always go with one curry and one naan per person...

Basic side dishes of pickles, pickled onion, and jalapeños

Pickles, pickled onions, and jalapeños come out as basic sides. Crunchy, tangy, and a little spicy, they go really well with the curry.

Tandoori chicken, ₩10,000

I usually like curry more than tandoori chicken so I don't order it often, but the reviews were so good I gave it a shot. The moment I took a bite, though, the chicken texture was amazing — moist and tender. On top of that, it had that subtle, mildly spicy tandoori seasoning soaked in, and it was delicious.

The portion was just right for two people to share, and it was great dipped in the Tabasco-style sauce that came with it, or eaten alongside the curry. Next time I definitely want to try the chicken tikka, the boneless version.

They also give you a separate bowl for the chicken bones.

Aloo paratha ₩4,000 and cheese naan ₩5,000

Instead of the garlic naan or butter naan we always get, I picked two kinds we'd never tried. Aloo paratha is naan with potato inside — the subtle spice flavor combined with the soft, pillowy texture of the potato in every bite was really appealing.

Cheese naan was loaded with savory cheese and had a light syrup drizzled on top, so the sweet-savory combo went really well with the curry. Both had that chewy, stretchy texture that's good enough to eat plain.

Can you see how it stretches like chewy bread? The texture was so good. I love cheese so much, I think I'll always order cheese naan from now on.

Palak paneer, ₩11,000

Palak paneer, made with spinach and Indian homemade cheese (paneer), has long been one of my favorite curries, so I picked it right away. It's soft and savory with a gentle spinach aroma that's easy on the stomach. It's not overly intense, so even people who aren't used to spices should enjoy it.

Mutton masala ₩13,000: how spicy is it?

To balance out the mild palak paneer, we also ordered the slightly spicier mutton masala. But it barely had any noticeable spice at all — it was very mild, so even if you can't handle spicy food, you should be fine!

Mutton masala curry made with lamb

This curry uses lamb, but there was no gamey or fishy smell at all, and even the distinctive lamb aroma was very subtle, so people unfamiliar with lamb should enjoy it too. Dipping naan deep into the rich, thick curry sauce was so, so good...

Is Meno Kamena Sinchon worth it? Final verdict

Sinchon favorite <Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch>! Moist, tender tandoori chicken with a subtle spice flavor, aloo paratha with soft potato, savory chewy cheese naan, mild spinach-cheese palak paneer, and rich, gently spicy mutton masala — everything was genuinely delicious. Tandoori chicken, cheese naan, and mutton masala were my top picks, but honestly, everything was good... I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Sinchon, I highly recommend this place~
