Today I visited a place in Sinchon where you can taste truly authentic Indian and Nepali food. I love curry in general so I went in with high expectations, and both the atmosphere and the taste were perfect — I really wanted to share this with you all. The moment I stepped into Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch, the exotic yet cozy Indian-style interior caught my eye.

I sat by the window in particular, and eating while looking out at the open window view made for a really great atmosphere.

I think visiting around sunset or in the evening, with the soft lighting, would make for an even more romantic mood — perfect for a date course.

Further inside, there's a private group room that can seat 4 to 9 people, which looked excellent for a Sinchon group gathering or work dinner too.

Naan tandoori king prawn, 22,000 won: prawns on another scale

On this visit, what I ordered was

a solid lineup of signature dishes letting you enjoy naan, tandoori dishes, and a variety of curries all at once.

First, catching both the eye and the palate was the 'Naan Tandoori King Prawn (₩22,000),'

a dish of large king prawns marinated deliciously in various Indian spices and grilled in the tandoor.

I love shrimp so I had high expectations,

and the distinctive richness of the king prawn was seriously no joke. The size was so big that when I took a bite, the texture that filled my mouth was truly a masterpiece.

The spices weren't overpowering and blended with the shrimp's natural sweetness, making for a flavor that had me involuntarily impressed.

Butter chicken 12,000 won with butter naan 3,000 won

For curry, I chose the ultimate in creamy softness: 'Butter Chicken (₩12,000).'

It's a curry made with fresh tomatoes, cream, and various spices, packed with tender chicken. Scooping up the smooth cream sauce with the chewy chicken together was quite fun.

It wasn't intense or overwhelming, so soft that I kept scooping more without ever getting tired of it — it has an almost addictive charm.

I also ordered 'Butter Naan (₩3,000),' curry's inseparable partner.

It's plain naan brushed with savory butter and baked fresh in the clay oven. As you'd expect from oven baking, the outside was crispy while the inside stayed chewy — genuinely delicious.

Piling the rich, smooth butter chicken curry generously on top of the chewy butter naan was truly a match made in heaven. I couldn't stop my hands from reaching for more — it had that irresistible pull.

Finishing with mango lassi, 4,000 won

To finish the meal, I drank a 'Mango Lassi (₩4,000).'

It was much richer and more refreshing than at other Indian restaurants I've been to — my eyes lit up the moment I took a sip. Not too sweet or too thin, with a rich flavor so good that I practically drained the cup dry. It was the perfect dessert-slash-drink to cleanse my mouth after the rich food.
