Daytime white wine at a Euljiro3-ga Western restaurant: Pyu Euljiro

In short

Pyu Euljiro is a stylish Western dining restaurant on a Mareunnae-ro alley in Euljiro3-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul. Booked through Naver, a lunchtime visit brought charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco for 34,000 won and crispy fried eggplant for 20,000 won, served with a glass of white wine; the food took a while to arrive, but the smoky, chewy octopus and the crisp-outside, tender-inside eggplant stood out. Pyu Euljiro is a good choice for a date or a first meeting when you want a different mood from Euljiro's old-school taverns.

Pyu, a date-spot dining restaurant in Euljiro! Let's start after you check out the intro video.

What kind of restaurant is Pyu Euljiro?

Pyu Euljiro is a Western dining restaurant on Mareunnae-ro in Euljiro3-ga. Hi, I'm Chugu, running and traveling. I went looking for somewhere with good vibes and slightly special food in Euljiro, and ended up at Pyu (PHEW). Euljiro has everything from old-school taverns to hip bars, but this time I wanted to enjoy dinner in a more stylish atmosphere.

I especially wanted to introduce this to anyone looking for a good-atmosphere Euljiro date spot, or somewhere in Euljiro to enjoy a different kind of menu.

Pyu Euljiro's entrance and surrounding alley view

It's in a great spot to visit while enjoying Euljiro's distinctive old-alley atmosphere, so it was good for wandering around the area before or after the meal.

Above all, I thought it suited a slightly different kind of Euljiro date course, rather than the usual Korean food or meat restaurant.

Pyu Euljiro's exterior

When you think of Euljiro, old-school taverns and hip 'Hipjiro'-style bars come to mind first. Pyu has a different kind of charm from that — a clean, stylish atmosphere where you can enjoy the food and the space together.

When it comes to a date, the taste of the food matters, but the mood of the space matters quite a bit too.

The menu also leans toward familiar ingredients prepared in slightly unusual ways rather than the food we normally eat, so it was fun ordering a few things and tasting them together.

Pyu Euljiro's wine list

Pyu, this Euljiro date-spot dining restaurant, is also known for its wine pairing, so I added a glass of white wine to go with the meal.

Even though it was lunchtime, let's start with wine.

The cooking took a bit of time, but a delicious dish came out.

How did the charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco taste?

Pyu Euljiro's charcoal octopus with romesco had a chewy texture and a subtle smoky charm. I like octopus in general, but I especially like the distinctive flavor of octopus cooked over charcoal, so I ordered this the moment I saw it on the menu. It looks quite impressive plated up, too. The chewy texture of the charcoal-grilled octopus and its faint smoky aroma are the appeal, and pairing it with the romesco sauce made the flavor even richer.

Eating the octopus plain felt different from eating it dipped generously in the sauce, so it was fun going back and forth between the two.

Especially when the smoky flavor met the sauce, it felt less like a simple octopus dish and more like a fully composed dining course.

Was the crispy fried eggplant worth 20,000 won?

The crispy eggplant was crunchy outside and moist inside, and I kept reaching for more. If you're someone who likes eggplant, this is a menu that will definitely catch your eye. The contrast between the eggplant's soft flesh and its crispy exterior made me keep reaching for it more than I expected. Eggplant's texture changes a lot depending on how it's cooked, but frying it crispy kept a lovely balance — crunchy outside, moist and soft inside.

Is Pyu Euljiro a good date spot in Euljiro?

Pyu Euljiro has a different vibe from the old-school taverns, so it's a good option when you're looking for a Euljiro date or a special dinner. The combination of chewy, smoke-scented octopus with romesco sauce was great, and the crispy-outside, soft-inside eggplant offered its own distinct charm. Above all, the food wasn't ordinary, which is what made it memorable.
