Dongdaemun vintage shop 20% off vest find: Viva Trade

In short

Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun Dongdaemun Branch is a vintage shop in Jung-gu, Seoul, inside the Dundaun building near Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. My husband and I spent an hour browsing clothes, accessories, and goods, then bought an oversized short-sleeve tee and a crisp-textured vest with an extra 20% off. Verdict: a spacious, easygoing place for unhurried hip-style shopping.

Here’s the event information for Viva Trade, the Dongmyo vintage shop—!! The perks are packed, right!? Clothing starts in the ₩10,000 range, and they discount that too. I looove it ♥

How did I browse the roughly 200-pyeong shop?

Shall we look around Viva Trade, the Dongmyo vintage shop? It’s one of Seoul’s largest vintage shops at over 200 pyeong, and they say 100 new items arrive every single day!!! It’s the biggest shop on the fifth floor of the Dundaun building, so it’s easy to find.

Shopping carts and a waiting area

If you come determined to shop (?), you’ll want to fill that cart with everything, hehe. I love clothes so much that I spent quite a long time looking through every single thing; my tired husband rested in a chair. Thank you for making chairs, Viva Trade. Otherwise, he would have told me it was time to go.

The LP records at the entrance totally stole my attention ♥ A clothing shop styling its props this prettily? Of course I had to snap a photo immediately.

What vintage clothing can you find?

Global brands

There were so many clothes from famous brands around the world. The styles ranged from simple, basic pieces to hip ones ♥ Since everything at a vintage shop is pre-owned, please inspect each item carefully.

High-end brands and outerwear

From Polo to Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Nike, and Kirsh—there were so many brands we all know!! They had short sleeves, long sleeves, and lots of outerwear too. It’s getting properly cool now, so come score a great find ♥

There were seriously so many types of pants too!! Overalls, skirts, shorts, and long pants. The styles were so varied that I really looked through every single one. (Hunting for a great find.)

Mirrors and fitting rooms

There were mirrors everywhere, which was great for checking out clothes I liked right away. Yes, and taking selfies too. Sooo nice.

Are there lots of accessories and goods too?

Accessories and scarves

Only clothes? Nooo! There were tons of accessories too!! Necklaces, rings, bangles, eyeglasses, sunglasses, belts, hats, scarves, shoes, even socks. I love glasses, so when I found a pretty pair of sunnies, I put them on immediately and ran to my husband, you know? But they cost over ₩150,000? Yep, turns out they were Dior. I put them down before I died (!)

There were so many scarves too. They made me think of my mom. Mom, I love you and miss you. But my mom doesn’t wear scarves. Geumung’s goal is really: Mom, buy me this (?)

Hello Kitty goods zone

Do you even know Kitty (?) The Hello Kitty goods zone!! Plates, cups, pens, figurines, bags, toys. It felt like they had made everything that could possibly be made.

I was reminiscing over Kitty when an old camera and an iRiver MP3 player took it to the peak. Anyone born in the ’90s can’t possibly not know iRiver...♥ I’m the one who misses the era of wired earphones. Back in my day...

The clothes we chose with an extra 20% off

After an hour of shopping (?), we each chose an item—♥ My husband picked a thick oversized short-sleeve tee, and I chose a black plastic bag—ah, no... a crisp-textured vest.

Oversized short-sleeve tee and crisp-textured vest purchase choices

Viva Trade doesn’t even charge for shopping bags. My husband’s was ₩29,000 and Geumung’s was ₩25,000. We got an extra 20% off those prices too, so we practically got the clothes for free ♥

—Shopping done—You thought so, right, husband? There’s a 500-pyeong Daiso and an Olive Young too; the Dundaun building has everything except what it doesn’t have, so I trapped him in exciting shopping hell ♥ We started at Viva Trade and walked 25,000 steps that day.

My thoughts after an hour of shopping

I could browse a wide range of brands and styles comfortably in this roomy, roughly 200-pyeong shop, and there was plenty to see beyond clothes, including accessories and goods. The prices weren’t high to begin with, and the extra discount was running too, so I adopted pretty clothes at such affordable prices, hehe.

They receive 100 new items every day, and the staff are kind too. There were so many clothes that I could look through them one by one without feeling self-conscious, and shop very comfortably. It had been a while since I’d spent an hour in a clothing shop. Thankfully, there was a rest area, so my husband didn’t rush me to leave—phew. There were lots of pretty clothes and so many hip styles that suit my taste, so it was an incredibly satisfying shopping trip. 200% willing to return.
