Magoknaru octopus hot pot for two near Seoul Botanic Park: Songjjujip
In short
Songjjujip Magok is a jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Central Tower 2, about 260m from Exit 1 of Magoknaru Station in Gangseo, Seoul. A couple shared the 2-person jjukkumi sarimong-ttang at 18,800 won per person plus cheese steamed egg and flying fish roe fried rice for 3,500 won each; pork belly comes in the pan, so two servings filled both of them, and the cold seaweed soup cooled down the spice. Songjjujip Magok works well as a dinner that leads straight into an evening walk through Seoul Botanic Park.

I'm Lime, and I love eating out with family. Ever since I had a really good jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) dish last time, I've been hooked on the flavor. So this time my wife and I headed to Songjjujip Magok near Magoknaru Station. Magok really does seem to be a neighborhood full of great restaurants. This Songjjujip location served up a generous portion of fresh octopus, and with the spicy sauce plus extra noodles and fried rice, it felt like a proper full meal. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone hunting for a good restaurant near Seoul Botanic Park or Magok COEX.

Inside Songjjujip Magok: seating and group tables
Songjjujip Magok is a 2nd-floor restaurant with a wide, open hall, plus a spacious group seating area off to one side that could easily work for a company dinner. A cute sign greeted us right at the entrance.

The whole place was clean and the hall felt wide open, with no sense of being cramped at all.

There's a separate, spacious group seating area on one side that would work great as a spot for office dinners.

We visited during the evening peak and the place was nearly full — clearly a popular jjukkumi spot.
Songjjujip Magok menu and kiosk ordering
At Songjjujip Magok you order through a table kiosk, and any extra requests go through the staff-call button. You can add sari (extra noodles or ingredients) to the spicy octopus dish to your taste, and there's also a jjukkumi bibimbap available at lunch.

Ordering is easy through the kiosk installed at the table, and for anything extra, all you need to do is press the staff-call button.

You can add all kinds of extra noodles or ingredients to the spicy octopus dish to enjoy it your way, and at lunchtime there's jjukkumi bibimbap too — this would make a great Magok lunch spot as well.

The basic side dishes included: perilla leaves, seaweed, chives, flying fish roe, mayo sauce, bean sprouts, white kimchi, salad, and a cool seaweed soup.
The white kimchi and cold seaweed soup that came as standard sides were the real MVPs, cleanly cutting through the spice that crept up on us!
Is jjukkumi sarimong-ttang for two enough for two people?
We ordered jjukkumi sarimong-ttang for 2 (₩18,800 per person), plus cheese steamed egg for ₩3,500 and flying fish roe fried rice for ₩3,500. The moment the 2-person jjukkumi sarimong-ttang arrived, I was grateful for how generous the portion looked. There was pork belly in it too, so two servings alone were plenty for the two of us.
A friendly staff member cooked the deliciously spicy octopus for us right at the table, which made it so much easier to eat — really appreciated that.
The staff recommended a delicious combo: wrap the octopus, dipped in mayo sauce, in a perilla leaf along with seaweed, chives, and bean sprouts. The savory and spicy flavors came together beautifully, a real treat. Personally, I liked it even better without the perilla leaf — just seaweed and chives let the octopus's own bouncy, savory flavor really shine through.

The cheese steamed egg we ordered alongside was soft and savory — glad we got it too!
Finishing with flying fish roe fried rice
And of course, we finished with the flying fish roe fried rice! The popping texture of the roe was so satisfying I couldn't put my spoon down. If you visit this jjukkumi restaurant near Magoknaru Station, I highly recommend not skipping the flying fish roe fried rice! We ended up scraping the pot clean.
Verdict, and a walk to Seoul Botanic Park after dinner

Getting to enjoy fresh octopus together with pork belly made for a really satisfying meal, and just as the spice started to build, a sip of the cold seaweed soup cleaned the palate right up. Drop by on a day when you're craving something spicy to blow off some stress.
After another delicious dinner, we grabbed a cold americano and capped off our Seoul Botanic Park food-and-walk course with a stroll through the garden. Feeling the cool autumn breeze drift by, it was a small but genuinely happy day.
