Halla tonic highball after a Jongmyo walk: Hey Jinny, Euljiro bar
In short
Hey Jinny is a cooking bar (요리주점) on the second floor near Exit 10 of Euljiro 3(sam)-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. After a walk around Jongmyo Shrine, the writer stopped in at 4 PM on a weekend for a watermelon highball, a Halla tonic made with Hallasan soju, crispy eggplant with a sancho pepper kick, and Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta. The sunlit window seats at Hey Jinny are made for a highball, and the food is every bit as good.

A Euljiro date bar, a Euljiro Western-style date spot, a Euljiro 3-ga wine bar worth knowing — this is Hey Jinny.

I was out wandering hip Euljiro today and ended up at Hey Jinny — the vibe was full of atmosphere and the menu was genuinely tasty, so it's a great pick for a Euljiro 3-ga date course or even a Euljiro blind date spot~

Hey Jinny's sunlit second floor at 4 PM on a weekend
We visited around 4 PM on a weekend and the natural light pouring into the space was just gorgeous...! A Euljiro bar full of atmosphere and mood.

Hey Jinny is a Euljiro cooking bar run by an owner-chef with 18 years of experience~ The tables are spaced out and the vibe is quiet and cozy, so it'd be a great place for a blind date too.

The little decor pieces are cute, and the window seats especially have amazing atmosphere....! The lighting is soft and pretty too, so it's perfect for a Euljiro date course, or as a second-round spot with friends after work when you want a drink in a nice setting.

These side-by-side seats are so full of mood too, haha. Sipping wine while watching the sunset or night view would definitely boost your blind date success rate.
The tableware set at each table is pretty and full of character too, and it's really clean, which I appreciated.
Hey Jinny's menu and what we ordered

We'd been walking around Jongmyo Shrine and it got hot, so we stopped in for a highball~ We ordered the summer-perfect watermelon highball and the Hallabong tonic made with Hallasan soju, plus Hey Jinny's signature spicy-sweet eggplant and the Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta for food.

We also ordered some soda to drink alongside the highballs, and the ice cup they served with it was so cute. ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
Even the zero-sugar cola and cider I drink all the time felt special sipped from a pretty cup in a nice atmosphere~

How do the watermelon highball and Halla tonic taste?
Yes~ the highballs arrived, haha. Just looking at them is refreshing and cooling! The watermelon highball's color especially is so pretty. (❀╹◡╹)

The watermelon highball is sweet and tangy~ it tastes like a soft drink, so even people who can't handle alcohol well can enjoy it without pressure.

And then the Hallabong tonic — Jeju Hallasan soju mixed with tonic water in a golden ratio~ topped with a lemon slice, it's crisp, refreshing and so tasty!! It's lighter than straight soju, so it's easy to sip through a straw without worry.

Sancho Kick! Crispy eggplant
While we were enjoying the highballs and the mood, all our food arrived~ The plating is so pretty and the dishware is adorable — totally my style. (Chef's got great taste!)

The eggplant sauce is a special house-made sauce — tangy, with sancho pepper powder mixed in, giving it that distinctive tingling kick that really lives up to the name..! (Full menu name: Sancho Kick! Crispy Eggplant)
Freshly fried so the outside is truly crispy while the eggplant inside stays moist and soft — crispy outside, tender inside, the works! Goes really well with a highball. The size is also perfectly bite-sized, so it's easy to eat without stress on a blind date or a regular date~

Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta
And the Osaka niboshi shrimp oil pasta we also ordered~ It's a fusion dish combining Japanese and Western styles. Oh... they sprinkled dried barley shrimp, which I love, on top of the pasta, and the nutty, crunchy texture of the barley shrimp is absolutely delicious.
Shake it, shake it~

With so much seafood in it, the umami of the sea comes through nicely, and the oil sauce has this unique flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The pasta noodles were cooked just right too, with a nice chewy texture — this isn't just a Euljiro bar with good vibes, it's a genuinely great Euljiro restaurant with real food to match.

Oh... they had mini candies set out at the register — such a thoughtful touch.
The atmosphere was great and both the highballs and the food were top-notch at Hey Jinny — I need to come back for wine and pasta. >_< Highly recommend it as a Euljiro Western-style date restaurant, a Euljiro 3-ga wine bar, and a Euljiro date bar.
