Even Geumgangsan looks better after a meal~ Here's the story of visiting a delicious Hongdae Peking duck restaurant, enjoying a meal made with real care, then having a fun time wandering around afterward.

A clean, cozy interior filled with cute panda decor!!

Try to spot the pandas~ they're everywhere, even down to the napkins.

It's a clean open kitchen, which puts you at ease about hygiene too.

Every table has a basket for bags — such a thoughtful touch from the owner!

The tableware is a clean black and white, which adds to the mood too.

Panda Dim Sum menu and prices

The signature dish is of course Peking duck~~~~ yes, you can actually get Beijing duck here. It comes in whole and half sizes, so it's easy to choose what fits.

For dim sum there's the crowd-favorite xiaolongbao, shumai, boiled dumplings, and spring rolls.

Braised pork belly rice bowl, black pepper beef rice bowl, and mapo tofu rice bowl are also on the meal menu.

The chicken dandan noodles and Chinese tonkotsu, and mala mixed noodles I had last time all look so good too.

On the salad side there's even a soft tofu cold salad!!

Is half a Peking duck enough for two people?

The half Peking duck at Panda Dim Sum is ₩39,000, and for two people, half a duck was plenty. The duck, yabing (thin wheat pancakes), scallion strips, cucumber strips, sugar, and sauce all came out first as one spread.

There's even a flower for decoration, isn't it such a pretty presentation? Eat with your eyes first, then your mouth~~~

Can you see the steam rising? Tear off a piece of the warm, thin, chewy yabing, wrap it with duck, scallion strips, and cucumber strips, dip it in the sauce, and enjoy. No gamey smell at all, which makes this Yeonnam-dong Peking duck spot even better.

The thin duck skin is so crispy that dipping it in sugar makes it a real treat. Savory, like eating a cracker.

Flying fish roe shumai, 8,500 won

The flying fish roe shumai is ₩8,500, a dim sum topped with flying fish roe that looks as pretty as a flower.

Steam rising off it~~ A juice-packed shumai that's a great way to get into dim sum. Dip it in the ginger and soy sauce that comes with it for extra flavor.

Black pepper beef rice bowl, 15,000 won

Here comes the flavorful black pepper beef rice bowl, topped with grilled scallions and full of black pepper aroma!!

It also comes with crunchy pickled mustard stem.

The tender beef and sweet potato are both cut into cubes and grilled to bite-size pieces, which adds a touch of sweetness.

Softly stir-fried, juicy beef with a salty-sweet balance and a sharp kick of black pepper on top makes for a deeply savory Chinese-style rice bowl. It's a flavor kids would enjoy too, making it a good pick for a family meal out.

And here's the chicken dandan noodles from a previous visit — a hint of mala aroma with generous chunks of chicken, on a peanut base that's nutty and spicy, so I'd recommend it~ for adults! (Adding this so you have more menu options to choose from when eating out~)
