Sashimi lovers, I'm on the hunt for good raw fish again~~ Today's post is about Rigo Susan, a live-fish sashimi spot in Jeonpo, Seomyeon. The restaurant name is so unusual you won't forget it once you hear it, haha!
Where is Rigo Susan in Jeonpo, and what are its hours?
Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch sits right along the popular Jeonpo street. Hours are 17:00 to 01:00 the next day, with last order at 00:00. On Fridays and Saturdays they stay open until 02:00 (last order 01:00), so it runs a bit later on weekends.
You can book through Naver Reservation, so I'd recommend reserving ahead if you're visiting on a weekend or holiday. There's no dedicated parking lot, so use the nearby parking lots.

The windows open up, so on cool days like these, sitting by the window feels a bit like eating at an outdoor pocha (street tent bar)!

The interior was clean and spacious. It looked great for group gatherings or work dinners too. They also had fans running, so it stayed nice and cool.

Rigo Susan menu and the 49,000-won assorted sashimi platter price
The side dishes here are seriously no joke — over 8 types come out, and apparently they rotate every time.

The platter menus seem to be the main attraction. There's a raw shrimp platter, an assorted sashimi platter, a raw shrimp + assorted sashimi combo, and more — you can order one whole platter or split it half-and-half like the raw shrimp + assorted sashimi combo, which is nice haha. There were also plenty of add-on items like mackerel hand-roll sushi and assorted fried food.
I wanted to try the assorted sashimi, so I went with the assorted sashimi platter. It's ₩49,000, and considering the quality of the fish and the side dishes that come with it, that's pretty cheap.

The nine side dishes served on the day
Here's what the side dishes (skkidashi) looked like that day. When the food came out I actually gasped, haha. There were about 9 of them, and they weren't just there for show — each one was substantial enough that this alone could easily go with a bottle of soju!!

Corn cheese and okonomiyaki... no need to say more, they were so good.

Roll, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), baek-kimchi (white kimchi), assorted fried food, lettuce... as you can see, every single item was solid.

This is the cold udon! Udon noodles in a chilled bonito broth with ice cubes thrown in — super refreshing with amazing depth of flavor.
We toasted with beer over the side dishes, haha.

And then soy-marinated crab showed up too!! It was nicely salty and delicious.

What's on the platter: sea bream, salmon and young amberjack
And now, today's star — the assorted sashimi! From left to right it's sea bream, salmon, and gizzard shad. These are exactly the fish I love, so I was so excited. The slices were cut thick and generous, giving a really satisfying bite.

Sushi rice came out separately, so you could make your own sashimi sushi with it. I really love salmon among sashimi types, and Rigo Susan is definitely a spot known for great salmon!! The fat marbling was just right too — I loved it.

Dip a piece of sea bream in wasabi soy sauce and it's chewy and clean-tasting!! Every piece of sashimi was fresh 🫶

Baek-kimchi paired with gizzard shad turned out to be a really good combo, so make sure to try that too.

Wrapping the mild sashimi with wasabi in seaweed was pure bliss...!! Eating this way and that, I finished the whole thing before I knew it, ㅜㅜ
Worth it for a sashimi restaurant with generous side dishes?
If you love sashimi restaurants that pile on lots of side dishes, Rigo Susan will really satisfy you!! And that doesn't mean the sashimi quality suffers at all — the fish was truly fresh and thick-cut.
Next time I'd like to try the raw shrimp too. Being able to order extra side dishes individually was really nice. If you're looking for a great live-fish sashimi restaurant in Jeonpo, go check out Rigo Susan!
