Myeongji University hair salon: side and fringe down perm at Lian Hair

My hair had gotten pretty long all around lately, and especially my side hair kept flaring out and looking messier by the day. So this time I went to Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2, right in front of Myeongji University's main gate.

This time I was taken care of by Senior Designer Yumin!

To cut to the chase, I was really satisfied — she nailed the style I wanted and made it look clean.

Where is Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2, and is there parking?

Lian Hair Myeongji University Branch 2 is right in front of the main gate of Myeongji University's Humanities Campus, so it was super easy to find. It's a convenient spot not just for Myeongji University students but also for people living in nearby apartments or around the university.

That said, when I visited there was no dedicated parking support, so I parked on the Myeongji University campus and walked over. If you're driving, it's worth checking on parking beforehand. And if you want a specific time or designer, I'd recommend booking ahead.

Inside the salon: spacious and spotless

Walking in, the interior was more spacious and pleasant than I expected. It's a white-toned interior mixed with wood and green accents, so it felt clean and relaxed at the same time!

The spacing between seats wasn't cramped and the whole salon was bright, so the first impression was great. There was also a separate shampoo room, with comfortable-looking chairs and everything looked well maintained overall.

Coffee, tea and snacks while you wait

There's also a neat little corner set up on one side for making coffee and tea.

There was quite a variety — Americano and mix coffee, plus iced tea, green tea, roasted barley tea, Earl Grey, and chamomile.

They brought me tea and a snack while I was getting my service done, and I enjoyed it.

For services that take time, like perms or dyeing, these little touches are surprisingly nice.

The consultation with designer Yumin was the best part

Honestly, with men's hair, just showing a single photo and saying "do it like this" doesn't guarantee the same result. Head shape, hair texture, and the direction hair flares all make a pretty big difference in the outcome.

Instead of jumping straight into the service, Senior Designer Yumin calmly checked my head shape, hair texture, and the direction my hair flares first.

What I wanted came down to two main things.

• A down perm on the side hair so it doesn't flare out!
• A down perm on the fringe so it falls naturally!

I wanted something clean and easy to style day-to-day rather than a look that felt overly pressed down, and she understood that well.

How the side hair and fringe down perm was done

What I noticed during the service was that Senior Designer Yumin has a pretty calm, sharp-eyed style. But it wasn't just quiet work — she kept checking the state of my hair and catching the parts that needed attention.

Personally I prefer a salon that handles things calmly rather than rushing through, so this suited me well. With men's hair, small differences change the whole look, and I liked that she balanced everything out to match my head shape.

Here's the finished look. The messy, flared parts from before were tamed, and the overall impression became noticeably cleaner.

I was especially happy that the side hair — my biggest concern — lay down naturally, and the fringe also settled calmly in the direction I wanted. I liked that it wasn't just flattened down but connected naturally to my head shape.

Best of all, I didn't have to explain the style I wanted at length — she just looked at my head shape and hair texture and knew exactly how to handle it, which made things easy.

If you're looking for a place near Myeongji University for men's hair or a down perm, this is a salon I can strongly recommend. It's easy to access right in front of the main gate, and the salon was spacious and clean.

Above all, Senior Designer Yumin, who handled my service, shaped the style in a calm and sharp way that left me very satisfied. The price also felt reasonable for the result, personally.

Chuseok is coming up too, so if you want to get your hair tidied up before the holiday, it might be worth booking ahead and visiting. Especially recommended for guys like me whose side hair flares out easily or whose fringe won't cooperate! I'm planning to come back here the next time I need my hair sorted out.
