In short

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is a brunch café in Suyeong, Busan, serving breakfast from 8:00 AM. We tried the salmon Famous Benny, garlic butter eggs, an acai bowl, and iced Americano; the garlic butter eggs and sourdough stood out. A lovely pick for an early meal or dog-friendly brunch.

Introduction to Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch

Looking for a filling Gwangalli brunch before Millac the Market

Today, we decided to go to the “Busan is Coffee Day” event at Millac the Market. Before drinking lots of coffee, we wanted to fill our stomachs properly, so I searched for a good brunch spot near Gwangalli and found Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch. It’s a brunch café with locations in Changwon and Yangsan too, so I had a certain level of faith in the food and menu, haha. My boyfriend and I ordered The Famous Benny, garlic butter eggs, an acai bowl, and one iced Americano.

Why we visited Famous Benny

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is tucked into the alley behind Tonshou in Gwangalli. It’s close to Millac the Market too, making it a convenient place to stop for brunch before starting a Gwangalli itinerary, like we did. We parked at the newly opened Minrak Public Parking Lot and walked over.

A place for morning brunch in Gwangalli

The biggest advantage of Famous Benny is that it opens from 8:00 AM every day. There are fewer places than you might think where you can have brunch early in Gwangalli. It’s an especially nice brunch café for an early appointment, an early start to a day in Gwangalli, or a relaxed meal before checking out of your accommodation.

Early-morning brunch at the café

We visited around 11:30 AM on a Saturday and were seated right away with no wait. Aside from us, there were about two tables occupied when we arrived. Customers kept coming in while we ate, but it never got crowded enough to fill up.

There was also a customer at the next table with their dog. The dog was indoors on a leash, without a carrier. I think it would be a welcome option for anyone looking for a dog-friendly brunch café in Gwangalli.

The atmosphere inside

The interior is decorated in warm wood tones, with plenty of natural light coming through the windows, so it had a comfortable overall feel.

The tables were not packed too closely together, and everyone seemed to be quietly relaxing over their meals, so it was easy to chat comfortably with my boyfriend. It had such an unhurried atmosphere that I felt we could stay a little longer after eating without feeling self-conscious!

Relaxed brunch dining atmosphere

It looked great not only for a brunch date, but also for having coffee alone or spending some quiet time.

There was also a Blue Ribbon Survey 2026 sticker on the door, which quietly raised my expectations before we even went in, haha.

The brunch menu and how it tasted

We ordered The Famous Benny, garlic butter eggs, and an acai bowl.

The Famous Benny with salmon

First was the signature menu item named after the café itself, “The Famous Benny.” You can choose either bacon or salmon, and we went with salmon.

A large croissant was piled generously with poached eggs, avocado, salmon, and vegetables. It also came with macadamias and pickled onions, so it looked impressive and was quite substantial too. It was a filling signature brunch where you could enjoy lots of ingredients on one plate.

Personally, though, I didn’t find the croissant-and-salmon combination to be a perfect match, haha. If I had it again, I’d like to try the bacon version, which I think would be a more familiar pairing.

The garlic butter eggs were the best

The most delicious item that day was the garlic butter eggs. It combines chili garlic butter, yogurt, and poached eggs, and it tasted both new and somehow familiar at the same time. My first bite was a little like, “Huh?” but I kept reaching for more as I ate, haha.

Breaking the poached egg, mixing it into the sauce, and piling it onto the sourdough served alongside it was such a good combination.

More than anything, the sourdough itself was really delicious! It comes with two slices, but if it were up to me, I would have wanted about four, haha. The garlic butter eggs feel properly complete only when you eat them with the bread.

An acai bowl that is nice for sharing with a main

The acai bowl came with banana, blueberries, raspberries, granola, and peanut butter.

It was a little cold, but the bright acai, fruit, and nutty peanut butter worked well together, and the crunchy granola gave it a nice texture too.

That said, it was not large enough to make a truly filling meal on its own. I recommend sharing it alongside a main brunch dish or having it as a light side.

Coffee with brunch

That day, we were planning to attend the coffee event at Millac the Market after eating. Since we needed to sample several coffees there, we ordered just one iced Americano to share, haha.

One iced Americano shared between two people

Famous Benny uses beans from Dukes Coffee Roasters in Melbourne, Australia. The iced Americano had a pleasant nutty flavor and went well with brunch.

The coffee was good as well as the brunch, so it seemed like a nice place to relax in one spot after your meal instead of heading elsewhere to find another café.

Would I visit again?

The most appealing thing about Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch was that it is open from 8:00 AM. It’s a good place to visit when you want an early breakfast in Gwangalli, want to enjoy brunch with your dog, or want to have an easy conversation in a quiet setting.

Early-morning dog-friendly brunch

The food was generally solid and generous, and the acai bowl and garlic butter eggs were particularly memorable. If I visit again, I’d order extra sourdough with the garlic butter eggs and try one of the open sandwiches I missed this time. If you’re looking for a Minrak-dong brunch café in Gwangalli that opens a little earlier, stop by Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch :)
