While looking for a good Jeonpo café in Busan where I could enjoy dessert and coffee together, I found this spot — Hippy (heap.p), a dessert café in Jeonpo-dong, Busan that specializes in cream pies.

What caught my interest even more was that Hippy makes its desserts fresh every morning, following a same-day-made, same-day-sold principle. On this visit I ordered Hippy's signature Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie. If you're looking for a dessert café in Jeonpo, let me walk you through it :)

Wandering around Jeonpo-dong, you'll notice every alley is full of distinctive cafés and restaurants. Hippy was one of those good finds for anyone in Jeonpo-dong who loves dessert.

Even from outside the shop, you could feel Hippy's own atmosphere, which fit well with the café-alley vibe unique to Jeonpo. If you're looking for a Busan café with a distinctive dessert, Hippy seems like a great match.

Stepping inside, it was a clean yet comfortable space. Jeonpo-dong has plenty of photogenic cafés, but personally I prefer a comfortable spot where I can slowly enjoy dessert and coffee.

Hippy seemed good both for a quick dessert stop and for hanging out and chatting with a friend. It also looked like a nice option if you're after a dessert café late in the evening.

Hippy's main offering is cream pie, along with coffee menus that pair nicely with dessert. What I ordered this time was simple — just two items.

  • Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie ₩8,500
  • Iced Americano ₩4,500 × 2

Even the name felt especially fitting for autumn. Mont Blanc naturally makes you expect a nutty, sweet chestnut flavor. Hippy's Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie is described as their signature cream pie, combining crisp pie crust with soft cream and chestnut flavor.

The look was quite different from a typical cake too, and it photographed really nicely next to the coffee.

First bite

Up close you could see the layers of pie crust and cream, which made me curious about the texture even before the first bite. I personally prefer desserts that aren't too heavy or intense, ones that go down easy alongside coffee — and this Mont Blanc cream pie is a good choice for anyone who likes that kind of combo.

Jeonpo-dong blend iced Americano

Coffee is a must at any dessert café, and Hippy has that covered too. In particular, they use a house-roasted Jeonpo-dong blend specialty coffee designed to pair well with dessert.

It's said to have a heavy body, mild flavor, and gentle acidity, and paired with the sweet Mont Blanc cream pie, it was definitely a combination made for enjoying dessert and coffee together.
