How an Isu Station restaurant search led to Kosi Isu Branch

I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner near Isu Station when I came across Kosi Isu Branch. It was a weekday early evening, and my boyfriend and I searched "Isu Station restaurants" together — once I saw the menu, my mind was already made up haha.

Inside Kosi Isu Branch and the house-made noodle notice

Once inside, there are several tables. Wood tables, black chairs, and indirect lighting gave it a cozy feel. Even on a weekday early evening, there were quite a few customers.

The tables were spaced generously, so we could eat comfortably without worrying about the neighboring table. There was also a notice saying the noodles are hand-kneaded in-house.

Overall the store was clean and well-managed hygiene-wise — totally satisfied!

The poster made me curious about the time and care that goes into the house-made noodles! You could also sense the owner's confidence haha.

What two people get for 27,500 won: the kiosk order

The menu had quite a variety — cold udon, warm udon, tonkatsu, and donburi. I was curious about the bukkake cold udon, so udon it was.

We ordered via kiosk. Adding the toriten bukkake udon set (tempura), a spicy gyudon side, and a Pepsi Zero, the total came to 27,500 won. It was a nice combo to share between two people.

When the food came out, the table was completely full. Udon, gyudon, tempura, plus inari sushi and side dishes came together — a pretty generous amount for two servings!

We ate until we were seriously full haha, good stuff.

Chewy noodles, broth kept just moist enough.

We ate the bukkake udon by pouring the tsuyu sauce over the noodles and toppings, mixing it all together, then pairing it with the tempura on the side!

How does the toriten bukkake udon taste? Noodles and fried chicken

True to the hand-kneaded claim, the noodles were really chewy! The tempura was toriten — fried chicken — and the batter wasn't thick, so it was light. Placing it over the noodles so the broth soaks in does soften that signature crispiness a bit, but it has its own charm that way.

How spicy is the spicy gyudon at Kosi Isu Branch?

The spicy gyudon was a rice bowl topped with beef and egg, seasoned to just the right level of pleasant spice — really not that spicy at all. The portion was also surprisingly generous!

It was genuinely soft and savory, pairing really well with the udon~!
