Weekday lunch Korean BBQ in Gangnam with yuzu banchan: Sansol

In short

Sansol Sinnonhyeon is a Korean BBQ restaurant serving aged pork with private rooms, tucked behind Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. On a weekday lunch visit, one portion each of samgyeopsal (pork belly) and mokssal (pork neck) at 17,000 won each was cooked by staff at the table, served with yuzu banchan (side dishes) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles). Between the sauce-and-banchan spread and ventilation that keeps the smoke smell off your clothes, Sansol Sinnonhyeon is worth returning to again and again.

Today it's my favorite samgyeopsal (pork belly) spot, Sansol. I already love BBQ places where the staff grill for you, but Sansol uses aged meat, so the juiciness is clearly on another level. From the sauces and banchan (side dishes) that pair perfectly with the meat to the grilling service, it's always a satisfying place to eat. Even better if you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant with rooms near Sinnonhyeon Station 🍽️

Where is Sansol Sinnonhyeon, and what are its hours?

Sansol Sinnonhyeon is a Korean BBQ restaurant right behind the designers' hotel, toward Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station. It's open weekdays 11:30–23:00 and weekends 12:00–22:00.

  • 📍 Location: Toward Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 3, right behind the designers' hotel
  • 🕖 Hours: Weekdays 11:30–23:00 / Weekends 12:00–22:00

It's completely subway-accessible! But once you step inside the building, you immediately feel like you've entered a mountain retreat at this Sinnonhyeon-station BBQ spot 🪵

Inside Sansol Sinnonhyeon: a Gangnam BBQ restaurant with private rooms

Spacious interior of Sansol Sinnonhyeon
Dining hall at Sansol Sinnonhyeon with widely spaced tables

The interior is really spacious! Since tables start from 4-person size, even two people can dine comfortably. The tables are spaced generously apart too, so it feels private — satisfying every time I come 🪵

And most importantly, it's a Korean BBQ restaurant with private rooms near Sinnonhyeon Station ✨ Rooms are great for work dinners or gatherings, right? Since Sansol has rooms, book ahead through Naver or Catch Table and reserve one!

Pork aging room at Sansol Sinnonhyeon

Did you know pork has grades too⁉️ I used to think all BBQ places were pretty much the same, but after trying the pork at Sansol, I really understood how much meat quality affects the taste — and now Sansol is the first place I think of when I want pork in Gangnam ✨ They even have a large aging room dedicated to the pork 🪵

Sansol Sinnonhyeon menu and prices, and what we ordered for weekday lunch

Sansol Sinnonhyeon offers San Modeum (for 2–3 people) at ₩56,000, Sol Modeum (for 3–4 people) at ₩72,000, and samgyeopsal, kkotmokssal, and kkodeulsal at ₩17,000 each, with gabrisal at ₩18,000. We considered ordering a modeum (assorted) set, but since it was lunch, we went with a lighter combo of samgyeopsal and mokssal (pork neck).

Four reasons I keep going back to Sansol Sinnonhyeon

Sauce and banchan spread at Sansol Sinnonhyeon

The first reason I love Sansol among the many BBQ places near Sinnonhyeon Station is the variety of sauces and banchan ✨ With such a diverse spread on the table, you can enjoy combinations you wouldn't find at other BBQ places!

Second advantage: the grilling service. You know how great it is when staff grill for you! Good meat quality matters, but this tasty meat also needs to be grilled well to be fully enjoyed.

Grade 1 raw samgyeopsal and mokssal at Sansol Sinnonhyeon

You can already tell the meat quality is great ✨ That's the third advantage — grade 1 pork. I've visited multiple times just for the samgyeopsal and mokssal, and the meat quality really convinced me.

Fourth advantage: a ventilation system that means no worrying about smells lingering. As you can see even on video, the smoke is pulled away right by the grill, so you can eat comfortably without worrying about your clothes smelling afterward 🔥

How staff grill the samgyeopsal and mokssal, and the first bite

Samgyeopsal grilling alongside zucchini, mushrooms, and water kimchi

The perfect combo of samgyeopsal and mokssal, plus zucchini, mushrooms, and mul-kimchi (water kimchi) grilled alongside — where else can you find such a perfect combination⁉️

Once everything's grilled, the staff neatly gather it all on the grill for you, and I love this kind of tidy service so much ✨

I always like to dip the first bite lightly in salt to really taste the meat's own juiciness 🩶

After that, I try each sauce and banchan one by one, and finding the one that suits me best makes for a truly happy combination 🔥

The yuzu banchan at Sansol Sinnonhyeon was the surprise of the meal

Yuzu banchan at Sansol Sinnonhyeon

I usually thought I didn't like tangy flavors, but this yuzu was so delicious I was eating it even before the meat was grilled 🍋 This is especially a flavor women will love!

Bibim naengmyeon with samgyeopsal: the combination to order

Bibim naengmyeon at Sansol Sinnonhyeon

Bibim naengmyeon. Order it while the meat is grilling, and once you're about halfway through the meat, eating the rest with the noodles makes for a truly perfect, filling combination!

Close-up of the vividly colored bibim naengmyeon

You can tell the color of the bibim naengmyeon is different from usual⁉️ I normally love eating rice too, but since it was lunch, I wanted something lighter, so I went with the cold noodles — and it was delicious!

A meal spread of samgyeopsal eaten together with bibim naengmyeon

Samgyeopsal and bibim naengmyeon is always a winning combo 🔥 Slurp it down and you fall for the juiciness, your stomach's full, and it's so delicious that even the meal course is great — I recommend Sansol, this Korean BBQ restaurant near Sinnonhyeon Station.
