The verdict: why Morakmorak is a must if you're staying at Rolling Hills
Overall: if you're staying at Rolling Hills, this is a restaurant you have to try. The texture of the meat is seriously amazing. Even people who live in Hwaseong should come here at least once.

Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang is located in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong. I'd read a lot about it before visiting, so my expectations were high. It's a place with a fun system — you pick your meat by eye before ordering. Guests staying at Rolling Hills can even arrange pickup through a Naver reservation.
How big is the restaurant, and does it work for groups?

The interior was really spacious. There were room-like private spaces too, so it looked great for family gatherings! The parking lot at Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang wasn't small either. It seems like a solid choice for group outings. They said it's a well-known spot near Rolling Hills, and sure enough, by dinnertime the place was packed.

The meat sits vacuum-packed in a fridge, with beef and pork packed in various cuts. What we ended up eating this time was fresh pork belly and whole skirt steak (galmaegisal)!

Pork belly and whole skirt steak, 80,750 won for two: is the table charge worth it?
Fresh pork belly ₩35,240 + whole skirt steak ₩34,510 + table charge for two ₩10,000 + rice ₩1,000 = ₩80,750. That works out to ₩40,000 per person. The ₩5,000 per-person table charge might make you go 'huh?' at first, but it comes with yukhoe and doenjang jjigae included as standard. On top of that, there's a self-bar with unlimited ramen, tacos, myeongi namul, and other side dishes, so you won't feel like it's a waste at aaaall.
What's on the self-bar at Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang?

The self-bar is split into three stations, which was handy for spreading out when there were several of us. Above all, the tacos were really tasty. They even had two different taco sauces, so you could enjoy them a few different ways. And the side dishes! Green onion kimchi, napa cabbage kimchi, myeongi namul, bracken fern, and various seasonings. You could finish a whole bowl of rice with just the doenjang jjigae and side dishes. But!!!! Keep in mind the table setting is already laid out for you at first — check what's already there before heading to the self-bar.

Otherwise you'll suddenly end up with a magically growing pile of plates...~
Pick your meat at the fridge and it arrives pre-grilled

The fresh pork belly and whole skirt steak we picked at the start came out pre-grilled. Staff cut the meat for you right there, so if you want a particular thickness, just ask! The advantage of pre-grilled meat is that you can start eating quickly.

They grill the standard vegetables along with the meat too~ For pork belly especially, since fat drips off, make sure to grill it in the center of the pan.

The grill's heat was seriously intense, so the meat cooked in under 5 minutes. We were starving and honestly amazed at how fast it was — first bite in. No photo of this, but we also wrapped it with tacos and paired it with green onion kimchi. Wrapped in lettuce with shredded green onion, or ate the myeongi namul on its own too. As someone who loves having lots of different side dishes, Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang was pure heaven...!

Kiosk add-on orders, and the unlimited ramen we never got to
You could also easily order extra items through the kiosk at each table. The doenjang jjigae refill, for instance, is included in the table charge, so you can use it freely. Last but not least — something we didn't get to try but sounded amazing — unlimited ramen refills! There's a station set up in one corner of the restaurant where you can eat as much ramen with bone broth as you want. I was absolutely planning to try it, but ended up way too full. Ramen will have to wait for next time...
