Hwaseong Korean BBQ beef brisket plus pork belly combo: Morakmorak
In short
Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang is a butcher-style Korean BBQ restaurant near Hwaseong City Hall in Namyang-eup, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. On a third visit the writer ordered chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket) and samgyeopsal (pork belly), both pre-grilled and knife-cut at the table, alongside self-bar tacos, complimentary yukhoe (beef tartare) and free bone broth ramen, with a table charge of 5,000 won per adult. For anyone who wants beef and pork in one meal, the brisket and pork belly combo at Morakmorak is the order to make.

I went back to Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang, hands down the tastiest meat spot near Hwaseong City Hall — this was already my third visit!

Why does it keep getting better every visit? Let's go with an honest review and my meat picks 👯♀️

Where is Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang? Hours and parking
🥩Location 70 Yeokgol-jungang-ro, Namyang-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea 🥩Hours 11:30–23:00 🥩Parking There's a big lot right beside the restaurant so even a large group has nothing to worry about^_^

Inside Morakmorak: room seating and chairs with backrests
To introduce the place first: this Hwaseong City Hall favorite has great meat, but the dining room itself is also clean and comfortable, which is a real plus. The chairs are comfortable and there are tables with backrests, so it's not stressful to visit with a kid or your parents!

There's also room-style seating, which looked good for family gatherings or a Hwaseong City Hall work dinner — nice and private!

The self-bar and the free bone broth ramen
The self-bar is always neatly arranged~ They set the table for you at first, and if you need more side dishes you just help yourself at the self-bar — the napa cabbage kimchi and green onion kimchi are especially good.

For dessert, there's also free bone broth ramen you can eat.
How to choose your meat and which cuts Morakmorak has
When you walk in, you first pick the fresh~~ meat from the fridge, then get shown to your table~

There's beef and pork, and once you pick your cut and tell staff, they pre-grill it and bring it to your table. There's a wide range of cuts — kkotdeungsim (marbled sirloin), chaetteugsal (beef strip loin), galbisal (short rib meat), samgyeopsal, mokssal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and more, so it's honestly hard to choose... but for additional orders, both beef and pork can be ordered by the 100g, so it seems like a good way to try several cuts.

The table setup is always neat and tidy — I've often felt a bit uneasy drinking water from a shared bottle at Korean BBQ places, but Morakmorak uses disposable water bottles which somehow feels more hygienic. They also serve yukhoe (beef tartare) on the house, and it's well-seasoned and nicely chewy.

The side menu has pot rice, steamed egg, and naengmyeon.

What the 5,000 won table charge includes, tacos and all
Another highlight of this Hwaseong City Hall favorite is that you can make your own tacos. The tortillas, nachos, and guacamole are genuinely top-tier. There's a ₩5,000 table charge per adult, but it's absolutely not a waste 🧑🏻🦰 the guacamole is loaded with avocado and super nutty and rich✨
The meat I picked earlier gets pre-grilled and brought over — and they cut it right in front of you! Having it sliced like this makes eating so much easier-!
Why the chadolbagi and samgyeopsal combo works
What we ordered was chadolbagi and samgyeopsal — a combo I'd recommend if you want beef and pork at the same time ❤️

Samgyeopsal takes a bit of time to grill, while chadolbagi cooks quickly, so it's great as an appetizer. I really liked the quality of the chadolbagi.

Even without dipping it in salt, the nutty flavor fills your whole mouth. It's got a nice chewy-crisp texture and is really rich ㅠ
In the middle of the grill is a doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) — the vegetables are fresh and the stew has a nice sharp kick. Tongs are provided for each person, so everyone can grill meat to their own taste.

Shredded green onions also go surprisingly well with the chadolbagi, so I wrapped a lot of bites with it >_<
And then,, my beloved samgyeopsal..🥓❤️ The lean meat and fat are both chewy, and the rich, nutty flavor of the fat is outstanding.

Finishing the meal with bone broth ramen
After eating your fill of meat, you'll still have room for dessert — and you can cook ramen right in the bone broth. This is really the killer move..✨ There's mild or spicy Jin Ramen, so you can pick to your taste!!
Is Morakmorak worth it as a Hwaseong City Hall Korean BBQ spot?
If you're looking for a Korean BBQ spot near Hwaseong City Hall, I can confidently recommend Morakmorak Jeongyuk Sikdang ❤️ It's not a loud, chaotic BBQ joint but a quiet place with a nice atmosphere, so it seems good not just for dates but also for family gatherings and work dinners!!
