Yangju hanwoo pork galbi dinner with wide parking: Manpo Garden
In short
Manpo Garden is a hanwoo pork rib (hanwoo suje galbi) barbecue restaurant on Godeok-ro in Yangju, Gyeonggi. On a weekday evening the writer ordered three servings of handmade pork galbi, pudding-style steamed egg, and free naengmyeon (cold noodles) for dessert, with yukjeon (pan-fried beef) and yukhoe (beef tartare) served as basic side dishes alongside six more banchan set around the grill. With its spacious parking lot and private rooms, it's a solid pick for family dinners or group gatherings.

Today I want to introduce a truly legit galbi (grilled ribs) spot I visited when I was really craving meat. This time I went to Manpo Garden, a restaurant that's become famous by word of mouth as a Yangju must-visit for galbi. Friends around me had raved about it before I even went, so I headed out with huge expectations.

Manpo Garden

Zero parking stress, a seriously grand exterior
The first thing I noticed as soon as I arrived was the overwhelmingly grand exterior. I got there when it was already getting dark, and the building was so big and bright it was easy to spot from far away.
When a restaurant has cramped parking, you're already exhausted before you even eat — but as you can see, Manpo Garden has a genuinely wide, open parking lot, so parking stress was zero! I thought it was really the ideal place for group gatherings or family visits. After parking with a good mood, I walked through the fancy entrance and into the restaurant, feeling excited.

Packed hall even on a weekday evening, plus private rooms
Stepping inside, I was surprised — even though it was a weekday evening, the place was buzzing with people. Seeing the hall so packed that empty seats were hard to find made me realize why this is a Yangju must-visit.
The hall itself is spacious and comfortable, but there are also well-set-up private rooms where you can enjoy a quiet, private meal with your group. It seemed perfect not just for family dinners but also for company dinners or important gatherings.

Ordering via tabletop kiosk
After being seated, I read through the menu right away. Being a meat specialty restaurant, there were so many delicious-looking items, and I placed my order through the convenient kiosk installed at each table. Today's picks were the 'hanwoo suje galbi (handmade pork ribs), 3 servings,' the 'pudding-style steamed egg,' and — a must with meat — 'dessert mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon (cold noodles)'!

Yukjeon and yukhoe as basic banchan? A gorgeous side dish spread
Not long after ordering, a jaw-dropping banchan (side dish) spread began. It's practically Manpo Garden's signature — bowls that looked custom-made were set in a circle around the grill. It was pretty to look at and made me feel well taken care of.
Along with a fresh salad, yukjeon (pan-fried beef) and yukhoe (beef tartare) came out as basic side dishes! And on top of that, six more side dishes arrived neatly plated on round dishes — the variety and presentation were really impressive.
The yukhoe, where freshness is everything, was chewy and savory and just excellent, and the freshly pan-fried yukjeon was savory and melted in my mouth. To think this quality was just the basic banchan — I was moved by the side dishes alone before the meat had even finished cooking.

Hanwoo suje galbi grilled over charcoal
Finally, today's main star, the hanwoo suje galbi (handmade pork ribs), arrived. I could see with my own eyes how well the seasoning had soaked into the thick meat through the score marks.
A grill filled with quality charcoal was brought out, and as soon as the ribs hit the heated grill, there was a sizzling sound and a sweet galbi smell spread through the air. The charcoal heat was strong, so the meat quickly cooked to a crisp outside, juicy inside finish while holding onto its juices.

Free dessert naengmyeon, plus pudding-style steamed egg
While the meat was cooking beautifully, our ordered dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) and pudding-style steamed egg arrived with perfect timing. By the way, Manpo Garden provides dessert naengmyeon for free! Being able to enjoy high-quality naengmyeon at no extra cost is amazing value 👍
You could order it later to cleanse your palate at the end, but we wanted to wrap the well-grilled galbi in the noodles and eat them together, so we ordered it alongside the meat. Both the cool mul-naengmyeon with floating ice bits and the spicy-sweet, savory bibim-naengmyeon paired perfectly with the meat.
And true to its name, the pudding-style steamed egg puffed up fluffily over the top of the earthenware pot! Taking a big spoonful, it was wonderfully soft and jiggly, just like pudding — the perfect thing to settle your stomach before diving into the meat.

The clever 'long tray' next to the grill
A piece of thick galbi, grilled to a nice golden brown! The rich, sweet-but-not-too-sweet seasoning and the tender texture came together fantastically. There wasn't a single tough bite — it was soft and tender enough that anyone, of any age, would love it without exception.
One thing that especially impressed me about Manpo Garden's thoughtfulness during the meal was the 'long tray' set right next to the grill! Normally, galbi burns quickly, so you have to put it on lettuce or a side plate, but here you place the fully cooked meat on that tray, and it stays warm without burning — really convenient. Thanks to that, the flow of eating never stopped, and I kept placing more ribs on the grill, enjoying a relaxed and delicious meal.

A dessert corner right by the exit
After stuffing myself with handmade galbi, I headed to the dessert corner set up next to the store exit for the perfect finish to the meal. There was a well-stocked selection including light drip coffee and sweet mix coffee, plus ice cream — which no BBQ restaurant should be without. Finishing off with ice cream for a clean palate cleanse made for a truly satisfying meal.
The spacious, comfortable size of the restaurant, the friendly staff service, the table-groaning variety of upscale side dishes, and the melt-in-your-mouth taste of the hanwoo suje galbi — nothing was missing, and everything about this meal was perfectly satisfying. If you're looking for a spot for a family dinner or gathering, or want to experience real, quality meat, I strongly recommend 'Manpo Garden' without hesitation. I'm already planning to bring my parents back here soon!
