Gijang outlet jambon pizza and vongole pepper tip lunch: Bueokgan

Last weekend my husband and I went on a nearby date to the Busan Shinsegae Premium Outlets, mostly to look at clothes and get some fresh air after a while.

As they say, even Geumgangsan looks better after a meal 🧚‍♀️, so before starting our shopping in earnest we decided to fill up at a great Gijang lunch spot. There are lots of restaurants inside the mall, but the one we picked was Bueokgan, a brand-new restaurant that opened fresh sometime around February 2026.

We had a lovely meal in a space full of European atmosphere, and everything from the food to the service was satisfying, so I wanted to introduce it quickly as a great Busan Western restaurant!

True to a popular spot, the waiting area was nice and spacious, and it was great that a paper menu was also placed there so you could look it over while waiting.

What is the atmosphere like inside Bueokgan?

The moment we stepped into Bueokgan, the European atmosphere created by warm wood tones and classic lighting caught my eye right away. The tables were spaced generously and the mood was great, so it works as a date spot for couples, and true to the Yes Kids Zone label, families with young kids were also eating comfortably.

Bueokgan has a wide variety of menu items, and the set menus that come with salad are well put together for 2 or 3 people. This time, though, we built our own lineup from starters to pizza to pasta.

It was a truly satisfying meal with nothing lacking, so let me honestly go through the strengths of each dish one by one! First off, if you need an apron, tissues, or wet wipes, you can call staff, but please use the self bar here instead! (They looked really busy, so this much I'll just handle myself 🤭)

Sweet potato fries ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First up as a pre-meal appetizer, the sweet potato fries arrived.

Unlike regular french fries, the outside was really crispy while the inside kept the sweet potato's own sweetness and moistness intact. They were great dipped in the ketchup that came with them, and just as good on their own — a perfect little dish to whet the appetite before the main courses. It had that addictive quality where your hand just keeps reaching for more, and we emptied the plate in no time before the mains even arrived!

Jambon pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Next up was one of Bueokgan's signature dishes, the jambon pizza.

On a chewy, light dough that tasted like it had just come out of a wood-fired oven, there was a generous pile of salty yet soft high-quality jambon 🧡. Combined with sweet honey, crunchy nuts, and the savoriness of plenty of cheese, every bite burst with flavor in my mouth.

The chewy texture of the dough and the balance of toppings were perfect, so you could enjoy it deliciously all the way to the edge of the crust. It was the best pizza, showing off the deep flavor you'd expect from a real Busan Western food gem.

Vongole pasta ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️

Lastly, since I was craving a clean oil pasta, I chose the vongole pasta.

The plate was generously packed with fresh, plump clams, so it passed the visual test right away. The deep umami from the clams, the perfectly cooked pasta noodles, and the sharp garlic together with fresh olive oil flavor blended together cleanly.

There was no greasiness at all, and thanks to the slightly spicy yet light oil sauce, we cleaned the plate down to the last forkful — basically did the dishes ourselves, haha. If you're looking for a Gijang spot that does oil pasta really well, I'd definitely recommend trying this one.

Pepper on the vongole pasta: ask for less if you have kids

Ah, one heads-up I have to mention! That pepper generously ground over Bueokgan's vongole pasta tasted really good to me, but I think it could be quite spicy for kids to eat (the garlic alone might already be spicy enough, haha). If you're spice-sensitive, ask them to go light on the pepper ahead of time! (Though, honestly, it tastes best when there's a lot of it ㅠㅠㅠㅠ)

True to being a newly opened 2026 Gijang hotspot, the store was spotless and the staff were noticeably kind. It sits right on the first floor within the shopping route, making it very accessible, and it's a great choice whenever you want a clean, atmospheric meal inside the outlet.
