Jeonpo curry restaurant with self-serve tea and hand cream: Sarugak20

In short

Sarugak20 is a Japanese-style curry restaurant in a basement in front of the Jeonpo1-dong Community Center, a 3–4 minute walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan, and the second branch of Moru Sikdang. The writer ordered the half-and-half curry (10,000 won), the special curry (12,000 won) and karaage (6,000 won), was told rice and curry refills are free, picked green tea or lime water at the self-serve corner, and found hand cream set out by the in-store sink. With a wood-toned basement room and bar, table, group and round seating, Sarugak20 is an easy Jeonpo lunch spot for solo diners and groups alike.

Hi, this is Haenyangi. I heard there's a curry spot in Jeonpo with such a cozy, dreamy vibe, so I went for a Jeonpo lunch~

Where is Sarugak20, and what are its hours?

Sarugak20 is in the basement at 78 Seojeon-ro 68beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan. It's open 10:00–19:30 (last order 19:00), closed Mondays, and dogs are welcome too.

The restaurant is about a 3–4 minute walk from Jeonpo Station Exit 8, right in front of the Jeonpo1-dong Community Center. Apparently this is the second branch of the famous Moru Sikdang!!! I was already excited before even eating~

The shop is in the basement, so just watch your step going down the stairs!

Sarugak20 menu listing curries, sides, and drinks

Sarugak20's curry menu and what we ordered

Here's the menu! It's made up of curries, add-on ingredients, sides, and drinks. The side drinks even include Japanese drinks like Yebisu draft beer and cream soda, which seemed perfect to pair with Japanese-style curry.

I really wanted to try the half-and-half curry, so I went with that, my friend was craving the special curry, so she got that, and we also ordered karaage as a side~

Wood-toned interior of Sarugak20

After ordering, we looked around the shop~ The interior is done entirely in wood tones, giving it a really warm feeling. Kind of dreamy and soft, haha.

Cute props displayed inside Sarugak20

So many cute little props too 😊😊 Browsing the space is honestly half the fun.

Water is self-serve~~ You can choose between green tea and lime water.

And there's even a sink like this..~!! Hand cream provided too.. the owner has amazing taste..♡♡♡

Seating at Sarugak20 for solo diners and groups

Sarugak20's seating includes bar-style tables and table seats like this (there's also a counter-bar setup, so solo diners can come and eat comfortably! I'll have to come back for a solo meal next time~)

Round table seating at Sarugak20

There were also group tables and round tables. With such a variety of seating types and plenty of seats, you can just pick whichever spot you like~

How the curries and karaage at Sarugak20 taste

Our food finally arrived~ When the owner brought it over, she told us the rice and curry could be refilled. It was already a generous portion, but refills too!!

Half-and-half curry and special curry set on the table

Doesn't the curry look seriously delicious?!?!? And the plating on all the curries was so pretty that you have to take a ton of photos!! So cute!

Two beautifully plated curry dishes from Sarugak20

Half-and-half curry, 10,000 won

The half-and-half curry! It's made up of cream curry and special curry. The cream curry was really smooth and creamy in flavor. The special curry had plenty of beef mixed into the curry sauce, which made it so tasty~ Cheese, sauce, and rice together — pure heaven~

Karaage, 6,000 won

The karaage!! The batter was thin and tender, so it was really tasty~ Eating it alongside the curry, it felt like we were in Japan~ haha

Karaage side dish with thin, crisp batter

It's tasty dipped in the basic sauce that comes with it, but I also liked dipping it in the curry sauce~

Special curry, 12,000 won

The special curry had sausage, a poached egg, and cheese sprinkled on top, and it was great to scoop it up little by little with the poached egg. The curry had finely diced meat, onions, and other ingredients mixed in, giving it incredible depth of flavor and a really rich curry taste!!

Special curry topped with a plump sausage

The special curry has sausage as a topping, and the sausage was plump and really good to eat as a topping, haha. Scoop up the poached egg, sausage, rice, and plenty of sauce together and take a bite~~ Ugh, so good.

Is Sarugak20 worth it for a Jeonpo lunch?

Overall, the food was really delicious across the board. Personally, both the cream curry and special curry are my style, so I think I'll keep ordering the half-and-half curry that has both next time, haha. Since rice and curry refills are available, you can eat more if you're not full!!

It seemed comfortable whether you come with a group or alone, and since it's dog-friendly, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a dog-friendly spot~ And above all!!! The owner was so kind ㅠㅠ Her kind service just melted my heart, haha. Saving this as a place to visit again for a Jeonpo lunch~
