Apsan date dinner at Daegu Korean restaurant Cafe Dongi: pork bulgogi
In short
Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch is a Korean restaurant on Daemyeongbokgae-ro 4-gil near Apsan Mountain in Nam-gu, Daegu. On an Apsan date the writer ordered the grilled spicy pork set meal (with the stew swapped for kimchi jjigae), the Dongi grilled pork bulgogi set meal, tasting-size tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and juicy fried mandu (dumplings), then helped themselves to rice, gim (dried seaweed), fried egg and barley gangjeong at the self-bar. Portions at Cafe Dongi were generous and good value, easily enough for two.

What we ordered: grilled pork bulgogi and spicy pork set meals

The signature dishes at Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch, a Korean restaurant near Apsan, are the Dongi grilled bulgogi set, Dongi grilled spicy pork set, grandma's jjukkumi (baby octopus) stir-fry set, and more!
We ordered the grilled spicy pork set (with kimchi stew), the Dongi grilled dwaeji bulgogi set, tasting-size tangsuyuk, and juicy fried mandu.

We brought over barley gangjeong, gim, and fried egg from the self-bar haha.

Ta-da! Everything we ordered arrived >_< (overall it was great value and generous portions — I loved it even more for that!)
Grilled spicy pork set meal: swapping the stew for kimchi jjigae

Let's start with the grilled spicy pork set!

Gotta try the jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork) first, a true soul food for guys!

One bite in and the pork was spicy-sweet, totally my style!

It's packed with all kinds of vegetables too haha.
So eaten with rice, a whole bowl disappears in no time >_<
Semo-nim likes doenjang stew too, but as a kimchi stew lover, swapped it for kimchi stew instead >_<

It's loaded with meat and tofu, and the broth was spicy and delicious!

There are three kinds of basic side dishes haha.

There's also a tea served for dessert, and it was sweet and tangy, delicious!
How does the Dongi grilled pork bulgogi set meal taste?

Now let's try the Dongi grilled dwaeji bulgogi set.
One bite of the bulgogi and it was sweet-and-salty, a total rice thief!

It comes with enoki mushrooms and cabbage, and the enoki had a slight smoky char — personally I thought the combo was great :)

The bulgogi with rice is JMT (really damn tasty) itself!

The pork bulgogi set comes with seaweed soup, and it had deep flavor and was delicious!
Sides at Cafe Dongi: tasting-size tangsuyuk and juicy fried mandu

Gotta try the tasting-size tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) we ordered as a side too!
It was packed with meat, and you could tell it was crispy just from cutting into it!
Dipped it in the sauce — the sauce was sweet and tangy, delicious, and the tangsuyuk was chewy with tender meat, so good >_<
The fried rice cakes were also great to eat alongside it!
Lastly, let's try the fried mandu (dumplings)!

The fried mandu was really crispy on the outside, packed with meat inside, and full of juices too, so it was even more delicious!
