Marine City Chinese weekend lunch: seafood jjamppong, Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an authentic Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor above Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap on Marine City 3-ro in Haeundae, Busan. At a window seat with an ocean view on a weekend lunch, the paihuanggua (smashed cucumber salad), abalone shrimp fried rice, seafood jjamppong and BUUK jajangmyeon all arrived at once, and the seafood- and vegetable-packed jjamppong broth was the standout. Even a four-year-old niece ate well, so Bueokgan Chinese is an easy pick for a family meal out.

Where is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch?
Today I'm posting about a Haeundae Chinese restaurant I visited yesterday — Bueokgan Chinese! I'd been to the Bueokgan Chinese location in Dalmaji before and it was really good haha, so this time I checked out the Marine City branch!
Parking is free for an hour and a half +_+ After parking and stepping outside, there it was, right on the 2nd floor above Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap haha. Super easy to find.

It's on the 2nd floor but there's an elevator so you can go up easily haha. I love that it's open all day! A truly authentic Chinese restaurant!

Excellent restaurant hygiene rating! That makes you trust the food, right? haha
There was even a sink for washing hands at the entrance. I love that kind of thoughtfulness!

Inside Bueokgan Chinese: the ocean-view window seats
The interior at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch had great vibes too — the fancy bubble lamps are so pretty, giving off a classy yet clean feel, right? haha

The place is huge, so it'd be great for group gatherings too — actually, lots of group parties came in while we were eating.

There was also a private room like this haha

We got a spot by the window with a great ocean view !_! Lucky timing, there was still a seat open haha

The interior was done up simply and cleanly.

Bueokgan Chinese menu and our weekend lunch order
The menu has all kinds of options — BUUK jajangmyeon, poached egg oyeopgyeol ganjajang, gochu ganjajang, beef brisket jjamppong, mala gosu jjamppong, seafood jjamppong, oyeopgyeol mala tofu rice bowl, spicy poached egg nakji Chinese rice bowl, paihuanggua, and more. On weekdays there's also a weekday lunch set (orderable 11am–3pm) haha

We ordered paihuanggua, abalone shrimp fried rice, seafood jjamppong, and BUUK jajangmyeon.

They said if you write a receipt photo review, you get free eohyang mandu (fish-flavor dumplings)! Give it a try haha

How the paihuanggua, abalone shrimp fried rice and seafood jjamppong tasted
All the food came out together — good good. This is the paihuanggua, a smashed cucumber salad +_+ I remembered loving this in Qingdao and Taiwan, so I decided to try it here, and it was amazing! (My partner can't eat cucumber haha, so I ate the whole thing by myself haha)

Then egg drop soup with abalone shrimp fried rice! The abalone was nice and springy, and the egg drop soup had that traditional Chinese restaurant taste. My four-year-old niece ate it up so well — so good.

Last time I got the poached egg oyeopgyeol ganjajang, but today since my niece was eating with us I just ordered plain jajangmyeon — the noodles were nice and chewy and the sauce wasn't overdone, really tasty +_+

And now mine! Last time I had the beef brisket jjamppong, but this time seafood jjamppong >,< It was loaded with seafood and vegetables, which I loved. I usually love jjamppong with lots of cabbage and vegetables in it, and here they were generous with it — good good. And the broth... it was insane.... so good ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
The moment I took the first spoonful I went 'whoa, amazing' haha

Delicious Chinese food with this kind of ocean view ㅠ_ㅠ how good is that haha

Can you tell from the video how fluffy and separate the rice grains were in the fried rice ㅇ.ㅇ The jjamppong had two plump shrimp in it too! You have to try the seafood jjamppong! haha

So there was food, and then there wasn't hahahaha — we scraped every last bit clean haha

Parking and opening hours at Bueokgan Chinese, Marine City
For parking, just have them stamp your parking ticket at checkout. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch offers 90 minutes of free parking.

I get why this place is so popular — the jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and fried rice were all consistently good !_! And with parking support it's easy to get to too haha. If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, I recommend this one.
