Yangju galbi restaurant with yukhoe bibimbap and sulbap: Manpo Galbi
In short
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is a galbi (marinated short rib) restaurant on the first floor at 65 Songnang-ro in Yangju, Gyeonggi. On a weekday lunch for two, the order was two servings of seasoned galbi, hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl) and brisket doenjang sulbap (soybean paste soup with rice), followed by the yukjeon (pan-fried beef) and yukhoe that come as free side dishes and a complimentary bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) for dessert. Manpo Galbi suits a weekday lunch when you want rice, soup and noodles alongside the meat rather than meat alone.

I was looking for a good Yangju restaurant where I could have a hearty weekday lunch with both meat and a rice dish, and I ended up at Manpo Galbi. I wanted somewhere comfortable to eat during lunch hour, and since the menu covered not just galbi but also rice dishes and naengmyeon, I picked it for a full meal.

I ordered two servings of seasoned galbi as the main dish, plus yukhoe bibimbap and doenjang sulbap on the side. There's a lunch special, so you can neatly work in the doenjang sulbap too! After the galbi, we kept going with the free dessert bibim naengmyeon, so the meal flowed all the way from main course to dessert. I usually like eating meat together with a rice dish, so this might be a useful reference for anyone looking for a good Mansong-dong restaurant.
Where is Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch, and is there parking?
The address is 65 Songnang-ro, 1st floor, Yangju, Gyeonggi. The restaurant is visible from the road, so it wasn't hard to find even on a first visit. It was a good spot to reach by car too, and there was a wide parking area right in front, so we drove there.

Some Yangju restaurants have inconvenient parking, but at Manpo Galbi we didn't need to spend much time on that before eating. It felt like an easy place to drive to with family or friends during lunch hour.
Inside Manpo Galbi: first- and second-floor seating
The exterior of Manpo Galbi had the feel of a sizable Korean BBQ restaurant. It's spread over two floors, and from the entrance it already had that cozy grilled-meat-restaurant atmosphere. The overall impression was clean, and after checking out several places while looking for a good Mansong-dong restaurant, I liked that this one let us eat comfortably in a spacious room.

Inside, there were plenty of tables and the seating felt roomy. Even though it's a grill restaurant, the tables didn't feel cramped, and there's a room-style space on the 2nd floor, which looked good for family meals or larger groups. Since we came on a weekday lunch, it wasn't fully seated, so we could enjoy the meal comfortably.
What is on the menu at Manpo Galbi

The menu centers on meat dishes — handmade seasoned galbi, Korean fresh pork galbi, handmade LA galbi, fresh beef galbi, and seasoned beef galbi. There were also plenty of rice dishes to choose from when you want rice alongside your meat. The rice-based menu included Manpo galbitang (rib soup), Manpo bone haejang (hangover soup), hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap, brisket doenjang sulbap, and brisket doenjang stew.
Yukjeon and yukhoe served as free side dishes

A little after ordering, the basic side dishes arrived, generously spread across the table. Salad, pickled vegetables and various greens came out — good pairings for the meat. It was nice to be able to try the side dishes one by one while waiting for the meat.
On top of that, yukjeon and yukhoe also came as basic side dishes. At some grill restaurants you have to order yukhoe and yukjeon separately, so it was nice that these came included as standard here. The yukjeon was soft and easy to eat, and the yukhoe, served with a light seasoning, was a nice light bite. Any side dishes running low (except the yukhoe and yukjeon) could be refilled from the self-bar.
Grilling two servings of seasoned galbi

We started by grilling the two servings of seasoned galbi. Once the meat hit the grill, a sweet aroma rose as the marinade cooked. The galbi had a good thickness and was slowly cooked while flipping it. Since the meat was marinated, it was better to keep an eye on it and not leave it too long on the grill so it wouldn't burn.
Once nicely browned, the galbi had both the sweetness of the marinade and the flavor of the meat itself. It was good eaten plain, and wrapped in lettuce it had a different feel altogether. Paired with rice, it made for a hearty lunch, and the portion was just right for the two of us to share.

Hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap and pudding-soft steamed egg
Alongside the galbi, we also ordered the yukhoe bibimbap. It's a dish where yukhoe and vegetables sit on top of rice, and you mix it all together with gochujang (red chili paste). Mixing all the ingredients together made for an appetizing color, and you could feel both the crunch of the vegetables and the softness of the yukhoe together.
Eating galbi continuously can feel a bit heavy, but having the pudding steamed egg alongside changed things up and made it good to alternate between the two. It was nice having several components together in one bowl rather than eating meat and rice separately. If you're planning to order both meat and rice dishes at a good Yangju restaurant, this kind of combo seems like a good idea.

What is brisket doenjang sulbap?
Doenjang sulbap is a rice dish in a soybean paste-based broth with brisket added. With the warm broth and rice combined, it worked well either midway through the meat course or at the end. It had that distinctive savory doenjang flavor, and with the brisket added, the broth also had a nutty richness. Eating the broth and rice together made you feel warm inside. It was a dish that suited wanting rice and soup after eating meat.

With two of us sharing several dishes, we got to experience more variety than if we'd stuck to a single dish. If you found this post while looking for a good Mansong-dong restaurant, I'd suggest putting the doenjang sulbap on your list, since it lets you enjoy a proper rice dish alongside the meat.

Finishing with the free bibim naengmyeon
We finished with the free dessert bibim naengmyeon. When you order galbi, they give you a free dessert naengmyeon, and we chose the spicy mixed version. After eating meat, the tangy, spicy noodles felt refreshing and cleaned up the palate.
The thin noodles, mixed well with the seasoning, also went well paired with a piece of galbi. Being able to get bibim naengmyeon for free without adding a separate dessert menu made it feel like the meal was taken care of right to the end. Working through galbi, rice, and naengmyeon for a weekday lunch filled the table completely and made for a satisfying meal.
Is a weekday lunch at Manpo Galbi worth it?

This visit to Manpo Galbi was a good one for enjoying variety, thanks not just to the seasoned galbi but also rice dishes like yukhoe bibimbap and doenjang sulbap. Getting yukjeon and yukhoe as basic side dishes stood out too, and finishing with the dessert bibim naengmyeon made the whole meal feel generous.
It was easy to visit by car, and the interior was spacious enough to be comfortable with family or friends. If you're looking for a good Yangju restaurant and want to handle both meat and rice in one visit, this place is worth stopping by. If you're after a filling weekday lunch among Mansong-dong restaurants, how about making Manpo Galbi your spot?

Working through galbi, then yukhoe bibimbap, doenjang sulbap, and dessert naengmyeon, I liked how wide the menu choice was — and if you're looking for a good Yangju restaurant and want more than just meat, ordering this kind of combination is worth trying. If you're searching for a good Mansong-dong restaurant, it's worth browsing the menu ahead of time and picking what suits your taste.
