Marine City night-view Chinese dinner for three: Bueokgan Chinese

In short

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant with floor-to-ceiling ocean-view windows in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. Visiting at night with a group of three, the writer ordered three bowls of beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and a small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) from the table kiosk; the tangsuyuk stayed crisp even with the sauce poured over it, and the jjamppong broth tasted deep rather than watered down. For a Busan dinner that pairs Chinese food with the Marine City night view, Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is worth a table.

Today I wanted proper Chinese food in Marine City, so I visited Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch!

It's a great spot for a date when you want somewhere with a nice atmosphere, and it's also easy to bring your parents or meet up with friends. The place is spacious and has group seating, so it looked comfortable even for a bigger crowd.

If you're craving Chinese food among Haeundae Marine City restaurants and want a rich-broth beef pork belly jjamppong alongside crispy-chewy tangsuyuk, I recommend Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch!

What is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch like inside?

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant decorated mainly in red and black. Marine City has no shortage of great restaurants, but the atmosphere here was striking from the moment you walk in.

Thinking back to the Chinese restaurants I went to as a kid, they were all pretty much the same interior-wise. Bueokgan Chinese, though, brings out that distinct Chinese color and mood in a stylish way, so it was fun just to look around.

With the red and black interior plus the lighting and props, it almost felt like a quick trip to China right there in Busan haha.

Group seating and space between tables

The place itself is quite spacious and the tables have generous spacing. There's also group seating, and when I visited, there were actually people there having a wedding invitation gathering!

It seemed like a great Marine City restaurant not just for family dinners but for friend meetups, dates, or company dinners.

Ordering was simple via kiosk right at the table, and we ordered three beef pork belly jjamppong and a small tangsuyuk.

The floor-to-ceiling ocean view: what does Marine City look like at night?

The ocean view right through the floor-to-ceiling windows!!! With a reservation, you can even dine at a reserved window seat! Visiting at night, the view of Marine City and the sea outside was really beautiful.🥹

Came for Chinese food and ended up getting a proper night view too💖 Isn't this what they mean by 'the atmosphere makes the food taste even better'?

Small tangsuyuk: does it stay crispy with the sauce poured over?

The tangsuyuk arrived first! Even though it's the style where the sauce is poured on from the start, it stayed crispier than I expected. The outside was crunchy while the inside had a slightly chewy bite, and eating it together with the sweet sauce, onions, and wood ear mushrooms made for a great combo.

Honestly, I meant to save some to eat alongside the jjamppong. But it was so good we practically cleaned the plate before the jjamppong even arrived lol. I even briefly considered ordering another small portion!

Beef brisket jjamppong: broth and toppings

And finally, the beef pork belly jjamppong we'd been waiting for haha. You can tell from the photo alone that the toppings are pretty generous, right? It's loaded with cabbage, onion, wood ear mushrooms, and plenty of beef pork belly, so it wasn't just a noodle-heavy jjamppong — there was fun in picking through the toppings too.

What I especially liked was the broth!! Going around to jjamppong places these days, there are plenty where the color looks super rich but the first spoonful tastes watered-down and weak, you know? This place was completely different!

The broth itself felt deeply simmered, with a sharp kick of pepper on top, so from the first spoonful it was just... 👏👏👏 Rather than pushing aggressive spiciness, it leaned more toward rich savory broth flavor combined with the nuttiness of the beef pork belly.

Lifting the noodles brings up cabbage and beef pork belly with them, and the broth soaked into the noodles well, so it was delicious to the very last bite. Eating a piece of meat together with the noodles especially brought out a nutty richness that I loved.

I personally really like jjamppong and try it all over the place, and Bueokgan Chinese's beef pork belly jjamppong had a different charm from the usual seafood jjamppong. If you're looking for a jjamppong spot in Marine City, definitely give this a try!

Best of all, it's not a place where the meal is the only thing — you also get to enjoy the great interior and the ocean view through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which made it a Marine City Chinese restaurant I really appreciated👏
