Suwon Haenggung-dong restaurant: 5–10 minute weekday wait, Low Five

In short

Low Five is a pizza and pasta restaurant on Sinpungno 23beon-gil in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Even on a weekday Monday and Thursday there was a 5–10 minute wait, and three of us ordered the half-and-half pizza, the classic lasagna and the hot pot pescatore pasta, whose spicy broth cut through the richness of the pizza and lasagna. With the fairy-tale storefront and the food both delivering, Low Five is worth putting on a Haenggung-dong date course.

I finally visited Low Five, a spot a lot of people go to for a Haenggung-dong date course. A close friend recommended it, and it turns out this is a genuinely popular restaurant in Haenggung-dong — there's a wait even on weekdays like Monday and Thursday. But honestly, it made sense once we got there, because both the vibe and the food had plenty going for them that pretty much everyone would like.

Low Five's storefront: an unusual look for Haenggung-dong

Even before stepping inside, Low Five felt like an unusual, almost overseas kind of place — I loved it. The exterior looks like something out of a storybook, and I couldn't believe a restaurant like this existed in Haenggung-dong. Just looking at the outside, I understood why people wait. I think a lot of people — myself included — would want to set up a date or meet a friend somewhere this pretty in Haenggung-dong.

How long is the weekday wait at Low Five? Book on Catch Table

On our weekday Monday and Thursday visits, the wait at Low Five was about 5–10 minutes. Since it's a restaurant with frequent waits, I'd recommend booking through Catch Table.

It wasn't just the exterior that was pretty — the interior was full of atmosphere too. The vibe was so good that I was in a great mood even before the food arrived. With the recent bright, sunny weather, it felt even better.

Arched windows and wide gaps between tables

The round, arched windows were unique and pretty, adding to the whole atmospheric, aesthetic feel of the interior. Even though the place was constantly full given the waits, the wide table spacing kept it from feeling crowded. It was great for catching up with friends I hadn't seen in a while — I really appreciated that part too.

With such a pretty, atmospheric vibe, I strongly felt this is a Haenggung-dong restaurant that's great for meeting friends, but really perfect for a date or a blind date. My friends said they wanted to come back with their husbands, and I thought I should bring my own husband here for a Haenggung-dong date too.

Low Five's self-serve bar area

Even the self-serve bar felt stylish and full of character at Low Five. The staff were kind and lovely, and the food was good on top of that, so it was an all-around pleasant meal. With this fairy-tale, aesthetic atmosphere that so many people would love, plus tasty pasta and pizza... no wonder it's popular.

What three of us ordered at Low Five, and the standout dish

We ordered the half-and-half pizza, the hot pot pescatore pasta, and the classic lasagna — all three were delicious, but if I had to pick a personal favorite, it's the hot pot pescatore pasta. Highly recommended if you like spicy pasta. It has that keep-coming-back flavor, and while pizza and pasta together can usually feel heavy after a while, the spicy, craveable pescatore cut through the richness cleanly.

Half-and-half pizza and hot pot pescatore pasta spread

I think we ordered well as a trio — the chewy, savory half-and-half pizza, the classic lasagna rich with meat and cheese flavor, and the spicy hot pot pescatore that swept away any greasiness all balanced each other nicely. All three dishes were tasty on their own, but together they worked really well.

Homemade jalapeño pickles from the self-serve bar, refilled once

The spicy homemade jalapeño pickles were more flavorful and addictive than your average jalapeño pickle. They went great with the pizza and were also tasty eaten plain, so we refilled once.

Half-and-half pizza: pepperoni on one side, corn on the other

The half-and-half pizza was an easy choice since it lets you enjoy two flavors at once. The dough was chewy and savory, and the toppings and cheese worked well together. Switching between the two very different styles kept things interesting, and we never got tired of it until the end.

Half-and-half pizza split into two flavors

The pepperoni half in particular was salty with a smoky flavor that blended savorily with the aromatic dough. It had a clear, solid salty-umami base, so a bite with a spicy pickle chili on top made it taste clean without any greasiness.

Corn pizza isn't something you see often, but the whole kernels on top gave a fun popping texture with every bite, plus a sweet, nutty flavor. The subtle spice from the seasoning was just slightly spicy and savory, pairing really well with the corn. The sweet-and-salty, nutty notes blended nicely with the generous cheese.

Classic lasagna: ragù sauce and layers of cheese

The classic lasagna was the textbook version — rich ragù sauce layered with cheese. One bite and you get a full hit of meaty flavor along with generous, rich cheese. Golden on the outside and moist inside, this is a dish anyone who loves rich, layered flavors would enjoy without a single complaint.

Hot pot pescatore pasta: spicy broth that cuts the richness

The hot pot pescatore pasta was the dish that swept away all the savoriness and richness of the pizza and lasagna. The broth was spicy, brothy, and deeply flavorful — exactly my kind of thing since I love spicy, hearty broths. The refreshing seafood and the sharp, spicy sauce meant zero greasiness, and the noodles soaked up the seasoning so well that I kept going back for more — genuinely addictive.

The noodles were nice and chewy, and the seafood was big and fresh. The clams especially were tasty and large. The plump shrimp were great too.

Is Low Five in Haenggung-dong worth the trip?

From the atmospheric vibe created by the pretty round windows to how well the main dishes came together, Low Five in Haenggung-dong exceeded expectations. The sweet-and-salty half-and-half pizza, the reliably delicious classic lasagna, and the sharp, spicy hot pot pescatore pasta made for a combination everyone was happy with. A Haenggung-dong restaurant that nailed atmosphere, taste, and aesthetics all at once — I'd recommend it for a Haenggung-dong date course.
