Suwon pizza restaurant after work Friday: salad-topped pizza, Low Five

I'm planning a trip to Bukchon soon, so I've been looking up places worth visiting there. Low Five caught my eye — great vibe, looked delicious — so I saved it on the map.

Turns out the original Low Five is actually in Haenggung-dong, Suwon! Haha, that's close to my house, so I almost made a pointless trip all the way to Bukchon. I was too excited to wait, so I went straight there after work on a Friday. Here's my honest review of Low Five.

Low Five is open from 11:20 to 21:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 16:50 and last order at 19:30. It closes early if ingredients run out, and it's closed every Tuesday.

How to get to the Low Five flagship, and where to park

Low Five, the pizza spot everyone talks about in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, actually has two locations in the neighborhood — the flagship and the Sinpung branch — only about a 5-minute walk apart. It seems to have started as a small brunch café, then expanded into a waiting-list restaurant once word got out. I headed to the flagship, right below Suwon Municipal Seongyeong Library.

If you're driving, there's no store parking lot, so you'll need a public lot. Nearby options are the Seongyeong Library lot, the Ipark Metropolitan Art Museum lot, and the Jangan-dong public lot. I used the closest one, at the library, but the fee was a bit steep. ㅠ Looking it up afterward, I found the Jangan-dong public lot is the cheapest — and it's only about an 8-minute walk to Low Five, not too far at all, so I'd recommend parking there.

A mountain-lodge exterior and antique interior

The vibe at Low Five is great, haha. Kind of like a forest lodge, or a cabin?

Walking inside, the antique interior gave off a warm feeling.

I bet this place looks gorgeous on a snowy winter night. They say Christmas is less than 100 days away now, and coming here already felt like Christmas had arrived.

Great for a date, great for a blind date too — such a pretty space. I love this vintage vibe so much. ㅠㅠ

The self-serve station in the middle of the store is full of character too, haha. Water and sauces are all self-serve.

Ordering at Low Five: the classic Caesar salad first

You order through the tablet at your table. It's handy since you can see photos of the food first.

I ordered the hot pepperoni pizza, alfredo cream pasta, and classic Caesar salad. The Caesar salad came out first — assorted greens with ranch dressing, lemon, and Reggiano cheese. The dressing was bright and tasty.

How spicy is the hot pepperoni pizza at Low Five?

Low Five is known for its corn pizza, but I'd read reviews saying it's on the sweet side. I'm not really a fan of sweet pizza, so I went with the hot pepperoni instead.

The cheese stretched forever and the pepperoni was piled high. I expected it to be really spicy given the name, but it wasn't that hot — way milder than Shin Ramyun, so even people who can't handle spice should be fine. I'm not sure what sauce they use, but it's slathered on generously — salty with amazing umami. The kind of flavor that calls for a beer.

This place is a genuine pizza destination, ㅠㅠ not just a good spot in Haenggung-dong but honestly nationwide-worthy. Wanting to try something different, I piled the Caesar salad I'd been eating right on top of the pizza. That combo worked really well too — glad I ordered the salad.

Alfredo cream pasta: how creamy is it?

The alfredo cream pasta comes topped with thick grilled bacon. The bacon's thickness gives it a satisfying bite, and its saltiness pairs well with the rich cream sauce.

It arrives steaming hot.

When the thick, rich cream pasta gets too heavy, switch to the slightly spicy pepperoni pizza, and when you've had too much dough, refresh your palate with the salad. Cycling through like that, nothing gets old. Best combo.

Final verdict: who should eat at Low Five?

I visited Low Five, the pizza spot in Haenggung-dong, and while everything was good, the pizza in particular is genuinely excellent. Go for the pizza! Sure, the pizza menu isn't huge — just corn pizza and hot pepperoni pizza — but maybe that's exactly why they nail the basics so well.

And the vintage, cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a blind date, a date, or an engagement gathering! It's so good they opened a Seoul branch too, so if you live in Suwon, don't bother waiting in line in Seoul — just come visit in Haenggung-dong! haha
