Dongnae sushi restaurant with beef tartare sushi: Moshi Moshi

You know that moment when you start getting hungry while shopping at a department store..?! But going back outside feels like such a hassle...? That is exactly when the department-store dining floor comes in handy, right?!

The place I visited was Moshi Moshi Sushi (모시모시 스시) Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch! They had everything from individual sushi dishes to full-set meals with tempura and salads, so there was seriously lots to choose from 🤍

On the 8th-floor dining level at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch

Moshi Moshi is on the 8th-floor dining level at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch! Since you can head straight up inside the store, it is such a convenient spot to take care of lunch or dinner while shopping.

Especially when the weather is bad, it is secretly so nice that you can eat without having to go outside, haha. Once you reach the eighth floor, you will find it in the dining area.

Ordering Assorted Sushi C and the Sushi Full Set

The menu had a great range, from sushi to sashimi, tempura, and udon. We ordered Assorted Sushi C, with 10 pieces, and the Sushi Full Set that day 🤍 Both came with a little bit of everything, so I was already excited before the food even arrived, haha.

As we went farther inside, there were cozy tables that felt a little like private rooms! It felt more relaxed than the open area, so I thought it would be nice for a family meal or a get-together too 🤍

Since it is inside Lotte Department Store, it is easy to bring your parents along, and the dining space is somewhat separated too. Definitely keep it in mind if you are looking for a family-meal or gathering spot in Dongnae.

Our table was divided by partitions like this too. The table itself was spacious, making it easy to order several dishes, and it was not laid out so that everyone around you could look straight over—so we could eat at a more leisurely pace.

Ahh!! Here comes the food 🤍 With two sets piled high with sushi, sashimi, tempura, and salad all at once, they looked incredibly generous from the very first glance ⁉️

Assorted Sushi C with thick-cut fish and beef tartare sushi

I had Assorted Sushi C! It came with 10 pieces of sushi, 3 pieces of tempura, vegetable salad, tofu salad, and soup!

The fish was laid on nice and thick, so every bite had that proper chewy texture of sashimi, and it was delicious. From white fish, salmon, and tuna to sushi with toppings or sauces, the selection was varied, so I happily tried a bit of everything 🤍

And then there was the beef tartare sushi that immediately caught my eye, haha. There was seriously a generous heap of yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) on top of the rice ⁉️ It had a little chopped scallion on it too, which went beautifully with the beef tartare! Having an unusual sushi piece like this in the middle made the set feel even more varied 🤍

Even looking again, the fish pieces are huge! A whole line of sushi with different looks arrived on one plate, which made it feel satisfyingly abundant too!

Tofu salad and freshly made tempura

And I totally recommend this tofu salad too!!! The tofu itself was soft, and the sauce blended in so smoothly. It was not heavy or overly intense, just clean-tasting, so I kept reaching for it. I even said while eating, “This sauce is so smooth and clean—it is delicious,” haha. It had that gently seasoned flavor that keeps your spoon coming back 🤍

And the tempura I really, really enjoyed!! It already looked crisp from that golden color, right? Haha. The tempura came out piping hot, which made it even better 🤍 Best of all, because it was freshly served and warm, the crisp texture of the batter was perfectly intact.

The Sushi Full Set with sashimi and udon

This was the Sushi Full Set we ordered alongside it! It came with sushi, sashimi, tempura, udon, salad, and tofu salad. It is similar to Assorted Sushi C, but has 8 sushi pieces and adds sashimi! True to its name, it really arrived as a generous full table spread, haha.

The Sushi Full Set also comes with sashimi separately like this! Since you can enjoy sashimi as well as sushi, I strongly recommend this one to anyone who wants to try a little bit of everything!!

This is what it looks like with the tempura and sashimi all laid out! With udon included too, it really fills the whole table, haha. Just as the menu name suggests, it was a generously packed spread with all sorts of things. We ordered different dishes and shared them, and the table ended up completely full with no empty space, haha.

Overall

What I loved most at Moshi Moshi Sushi at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch?! The fish on the sushi was thick-cut, so you could really enjoy that springy, chewy sashimi texture 🤍 Add in the tofu salad, where soft tofu and smooth sauce came together so deliciously, plus the hot, crisp tempura—absolute heaven.. 🤍

The sushi was delicious, and there were so many side dishes to try that my chopsticks stayed very busy the whole time!!? Above all, I loved that it was easy to reach on the 8th-floor dining level at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch, and that the tables were divided into room-like spaces for a comfortable meal.
