Window-seat sashimi lunch in Gwangalli, Busan: Geumrang Hoetjip
In short
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of Marine Rich in Gwangalli, Suyeong-gu, Busan, looking straight out at Gwangan Bridge. Sitting at a window seat on a daytime visit with a friend and no kids along, the writer ordered the Subyeon Hansang (seaside set, 60,000 won per person), a course running from abalone porridge to assorted sashimi, gonowata and spicy fish stew. The chewy, springy gill cut in the assorted sashimi was the highlight, and the daytime bridge view makes the required reservation worth it.

Today I'm bringing you a Gwangalli restaurant review from a trip I took without my kids — just me and a friend, on a weekday afternoon. I wanted to eat sashimi while looking at Gwangan Bridge, and luckily I found a great spot and booked it.
When I got there, there were actually foreign customers, families, and even a group of moms having daytime drinks together haha. Made me think I should try a daytime drink session myself sometime ㅠhaha.

The Gwangan Bridge view from the window seats
We sat at a window seat at Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch with Gwangan Bridge right in front of us — honestly, the view alone was already half the experience.
On a sunny day you get to eat while watching the sea sparkle, which makes it perfect for a date or just a solo healing trip.

They said they only use live fish every day, and it turns out this is a fairly well-known local spot in Gwangalli.
Geumrang Hoetjip menu and prices

The menu lineup was pretty varied.
- Bada Hansang (per person, 10+ people) ₩40,000
- Gwangan Hansang (per person, one sashimi refill) ₩50,000
- Suybeon Hansang (per person, one sashimi refill) ₩60,000
- Geumrang Hansang (per person) ₩80,000
- Assorted sashimi (small/medium/large) ₩100,000 / ₩150,000 / ₩200,000
- Special assorted sashimi ₩250,000
If you just want sashimi as a single order, you can also get rockfish ₩43,000, flounder ₩55,000, red seabream ₩60,000 (per 1kg).
There's also a lunch special (₩26,000 per person) plus sashimi rice bowls and cold raw fish soup, so there are plenty of lighter options too.
What comes with the Subyeon Hansang set (60,000 won per person)?
The set I ordered was the Suybeon Hansang (per person) at ₩60,000.

It was a full course laid out on one table: wild assorted sashimi, steamed abalone, merou steak, gonowata (fermented sea cucumber intestines), octopus tangtangi, marinated shrimp, assorted seafood, seaweed soup, buttered scallops, sushi, raw shrimp, hot-plate dishes, and even egg roe rice.

The very first thing to arrive was abalone porridge — starting with a warm spoonful of that really settled my stomach. Steamed egg and corn cheese came out alongside it too, perfect for whetting the appetite.

The chewy gill cut is the highlight of the assorted sashimi
The main event, the assorted sashimi, had firm, chewy flesh that kept me reaching for more. The gill portion in particular was incredibly chewy — the texture was the best part.

Dipping it straight into the gonowata was also a delicacy of a combination ㅜㅜ.

Spicy fish stew to finish, plus the one free sashimi refill
The spicy fish stew came out separately, so we could finish up nice and full.
There's also one free small-plate sashimi refill, so if there's a part you want more of, you can refill and keep enjoying it.
A Gwangalli restaurant where you can have a hearty course of wild sashimi while looking at Gwangan Bridge! The chewiness of the gill part was the sashimi experience of a lifetime 🐟
