Gangnam gelato café near Seolleung Station: Scoopy’s fig cream cheese

After eating near Seolleung Station, I was craving a cool, sweet dessert. There happened to be a gelato specialty shop nearby, so I stopped by Scoopy for dessert. You can choose from lots of handmade ice creams here, and there were more flavors than I expected, so I spent quite a while deciding!

When I visited, the entrance also said 12:00 OPEN / 22:20 CLOSE, closed Mondays. Since it stays open fairly late, it seemed like a nice dessert stop after dinner near Seolleung Station. The area was full of academies at the time, and it looked like plenty of students came by too.

A Small Shop Where You Can Eat In

The shop had a clean, simple feel overall, using white and black throughout. It is not especially large, but there were benches, small tables, and stools, so you could eat your gelato inside instead of taking it away. We were full, so we ate ours while taking a walk.

Scoopy Gelato Flavors and Prices

The display case was full of colorful ice cream! When I visited, there were flavors including Uji matcha, American peanut butter, Triple Berry, Fig Cream Cheese, Apple Mango, mint chocolate, black rice sweet sticky rice, strawberry banana, Sicilian pistachio, Oreo & Cream, and chocolate. There was a good mix from fruit flavors to nutty, creamy ones, so it seemed easy to choose according to your taste.

A single scoop was 120g for ₩5,000, a double was 180g for ₩7,500, and a triple was 240g for ₩9,500.

What We Ordered

We ordered one single each of Triple Berry and Fig Cream Cheese, for a total of ₩10,000.

How Refreshing Was Triple Berry?

I do not know exactly which three berries are in it, but blueberry came through most strongly for me. It had that characteristically sweet-tart berry flavor, making it refreshing overall! I think it would suit anyone who prefers bright fruit flavors over rich, heavy ice cream.

My Favorite: Fig Cream Cheese

Fig Cream Cheese was absolutely my preference of the two. At first, the name made me think the fig flavor would be quite strong, but it was not the kind where the fig jumps right out. Instead, it felt closer to the soft, creamy flavor distinctive to cream cheese, with a subtle sweetness added in. So rather than expecting an intense fig flavor, I think you would enjoy it more if you like soft, sweet cream-cheese-style flavors. Of the four I tried that day, Fig Cream Cheese was the most delicious to me.

Tastes of Apple Mango and Sicilian Pistachio

When ordering, I could also try Apple Mango and Sicilian Pistachio on tasting spoons. It was nice that, even though we ordered two cups, we could experience other flavors too. Apple Mango tasted exactly as its name suggests: an honest apple mango flavor! It had mango's signature sweet, refreshing character, so it seemed like an easy, reliable choice if you like fruit flavors.

Sicilian Pistachio, on the other hand, was quite impressive. Rather than having a strong artificial pistachio aroma, it had the nuttiness of pistachio cream like the kind you can taste inside du-jjonku. I also loved its soft, creamy feel, and it was a flavor I wanted to try properly in a full cup next time. Personally, among the four, Triple Berry and Apple Mango were the refreshing ones, while Fig Cream Cheese and Sicilian Pistachio were the soft, creamy ones.

Next Time, the Oat Crunch Cup

The Oat Crunch Cup sign on the door also caught my eye. It costs ₩4,500, and it is a menu item combining Scoopy's handmade ice cream, domestic Grade 1 milk, five-grain flakes, and granola. You can choose the ice cream flavor too, so I was quietly curious about what it would taste like. I had gelato this time, so if I visit again, I would like to try the Oat Crunch Cup too.

When I visited, they were also running an event that upgraded your ice cream by one size if you wrote a receipt photo review, so check with the shop to see whether it is still running if you visit.

A great place to stop when you are thinking of a cool dessert after eating near Seolleung Station! There were lots of flavors and even tastings, which made choosing fun, and my top pick was the soft, sweet Fig Cream Cheese! I want to try more flavors next time.
