I recently went in for a wedding hair dye before my big day, and both the designer's skill and the service were so satisfying that I wanted to share this Wangsimni hair salon with you.

This Wangsimni hair salon is a 2-minute walk from Sangwangsimni Station on Line 2! Parking is available in the building too, and it's super accessible by public transit, so anyone can visit easily 👍🏻 It's also a pet-friendly salon! 🐕

Inside the salon: private lockers and an in-house restroom

Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch isn't huge inside, but it was clean and tidy, which I loved!! There were personal lockers for storing your things during your service, and they'd even written the reservation holder's name and stuck it on ahead of time. A small detail, but I thought it was such a thoughtful touch.

You can even buy the products they use in the salon! From my own experience getting styled, this Wangsimni hair salon really seems to use great products — this was the first time my hair came out of a salon this undamaged...❤️

There was a waiting area on one side of the salon, plus a restroom inside! When the restroom is out in the shared building hallway it's awkward to step out mid-service, so having one inside was really convenient.

The styling area was super clean too!!! Not a big space, but really well put together. It seems like they change the interior mood by season — when I visited, autumn was approaching, so the inside was decorated with fallen leaves haha 🍂

The spa area and shampoo area were each their own separate spaces, nicely divided so you don't overlap or run into other guests. While I was getting shampooed they even covered me with a blanket — such attentive care haha

As soon as they showed me to my seat, they brought me a drink. You can pick coffee, green tea, juice, whatever suits your taste, plus a simple snack, so my mouth wasn't bored during the whole process.

How the wedding hair color consultation went

As I mentioned, I went to Urban Ground Hair Sangwangsimni Station Branch for a wedding hair dye! I told them I was getting married soon and showed some reference photos I'd found beforehand, and after a quick consultation they got started. They checked every little detail so carefully that I was even more satisfied with the result haha

To keep my hair from getting more damaged, they carefully sprayed on a scalp protector, and they covered my ears with a plastic-ish film so the dye wouldn't stain them.

Before: faded color and heavy red tones

I was going to save the before photo for later, but there's really no hiding it — behold my chestnut-toned before haha. My hair was pretty damaged and I couldn't cut it, so I'd been holding off dyeing it for as long as possible ㅠ My natural color mixed with the faded color made it look genuinely messy...😭

How Designer Haesu colored the red-toned hair

I told them at the consultation that my hair is naturally very dark with a lot of red undertone, so whenever I dye it at home the color never comes out the way I want. They responded by mixing in a color that corrects red tones and leaving it on longer starting from the top of my head! After checking that the color was taking well, they applied the dye down to the lower hair and scalp to blend it all together.

After letting it sit a bit, they shampooed my hair! During the shampoo, they gave me a clinic treatment to help prevent damage and keep the color lasting longer. They also did a scalp massage while shampooing — honestly it felt so good I almost fell asleep haha

Wedding hair color before and after

Left before / right after, haha. The before really was so messy and full of that reddish brown — looking at it again, it's such a chestnut mess ㅠㅠ After the dye, it's so much calmer, and the tone is even all over, so it turned out clean and pretty haha

They toned down so much of the red I hate, and I was extremely satisfied. What I loved most was how carefully they made sure my hair didn't get more damaged — thanks to them, my already-damaged hair got at least a little protection...

Thanks to this beautiful dye job, every single photo from my wedding day turned out great ❤️ They matched me with a shade that brightens my face perfectly, so I got the calm, radiant bride look I wanted haha
