Hi, this is Kkani ·͜· I went to "Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa Ajung-ri Main Branch" — a jjukkumi (baby octopus) spot in Inhu-dong, Jeonju, and a lunch favorite in Ajung-ri!
Where is Jjukkumi Sinhwa in Jeonju, and where do you park?
Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa Ajung-ri Main Branch is at 16 Donggajaemi 2-gil, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, Jeonbuk — 1st floor, in Ajung-ri, Inhu-dong. It sits right on a corner, so it wasn't hard to find haha.

If you head left of the building for parking, there's a spacious 100-pyeong private lot, so no need to worry about parking at all!
Inside, shoes stay on! And keep in mind — the restaurant is closed every Sunday~!
Inside Jjukkumi Sinhwa: tables and private rooms for groups
Here's the inside of Jjukkumi Sinhwa. The seating is spacious and clean! The tables aren't packed too close together either, so it was comfortable to eat haha.
They also have private rooms, which looked perfect for group dinners or gatherings.
Menu at Jjukkumi Sinhwa: jjukkumi, Hwasan Jjukkumi, Hwasae
Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa's menu is broadly split into three. There's the basic jjukkumi-only dish, Hwasan Jjukkumi with jjukkumi and beef belly, and Hwasae with jjukkumi, beef belly, and shrimp all together!

Every table had a menu ready, and you could also order easily via QR code! There were plenty of topping options too — shrimp, beef belly, cheese, rice cake — and a pork cutlet side dish that looked perfect for kids.

Jjukkumi Sinhwa gives out a free cheese topping if you leave a Naver receipt review or take part in their SNS hashtag event, so make sure to join and grab that cheese topping!

For takeout orders, they give you double the jjukkumi with no side dishes! Two servings cost ₩17,000, and bean sprouts or perilla leaves — the perfect match for jjukkumi — can be added for ₩1,000 each!
What we ordered for lunch at Jjukkumi Sinhwa
- Hwasae (jjukkumi + beef belly + shrimp) ₩20,000 ×3
- Cheese fried rice ₩3,000
Self-serve side dishes and the handmade garlic sauce
Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa Ajung-ri Main Branch brings out side dishes first when you order. Every single one was delicious!!

This is the handmade garlic sauce, made with mayonnaise, domestic raw garlic, and even apple! The instructions for eating jjukkumi the best way even mention the garlic sauce, so you have to try it haha.

If you need more side dishes, you can grab extra from the self-serve corner~!
Egg soup also comes as a basic side dish, but due to rising egg prices, adding extra egg soup now costs ₩2,000!

How does Hwasae (baby octopus, beef belly, shrimp) taste?
Here's the Hwasae I ordered — jjukkumi, beef belly, and shrimp! Hwasae is ₩20,000 per serving, and we ordered 3 servings that day.

A staff member checked in and cooked it for us periodically, so we could eat comfortably haha.

The visuals of Jjukkumi Sinhwa's Hwasae are already overwhelming haha. As it cooks, a delicious smell starts drifting out 🤤

Following the suggested way of eating, I tried the jjukkumi on its own first, then wrapped it in perilla leaf with pickled radish, bean sprouts, jjukkumi, and meat! Plus the handmade garlic sauce — every combination was so delicious 🥺

Especially with Hwasae, you get plump, springy shrimp mixed in — and that's the real kicker!

Finishing with cheese fried rice for 3,000 won
The cheese fried rice, drizzled generously with nutty perilla oil, is a must-order haha. It's ₩3,000, and they told us it's ready to eat once the cheese inside fully melts!

Fried rice stir-fried in that spicy-sweet sauce can't possibly taste bad…! If you visit Jjukkumi Sinhwa, definitely finish with the fried rice >.<
Is Jjukkumi Sinhwa worth it for lunch in Jeonju?
The combination of plump jjukkumi, shrimp, and beef belly was absolutely top-tier at this jjukkumi restaurant in Inhu-dong, Jeonju — a lunch favorite in Ajung-ri, "Jeonju Jjukkumi Sinhwa Ajung-ri Main Branch." If you're looking for a great jjukkumi spot in Jeonju, I strongly recommend Jjukkumi Sinhwa!
