Seoul Botanic Park Mexican restaurant: fajita couple set at Taqueros

In short

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is a Mexican family restaurant in Gangseo, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Magok Station and just below LG Science Park. After looking around Seoul Botanic Park and walking slowly down, the writer ordered the signature couple set with the fajita option plus an apple mango ade, and the 6 sauces and free tortilla refills made it a filling meal. With a 16-person connecting table and sofa seating, Taqueros works well for family meals and group gatherings.

Mexican dishes served at Taqueros Magok Main Branch

This is my review of Taqueros, a Mexican restaurant near Seoul Botanic Park. It's a Mexican family restaurant, but you can also find some South American food here — basically a taco spot. Tacos, chimichangas, fajitas, Texas BBQ ribs and more — great menu for chatting with family or friends over a meal 🥑🌮🥘

Can you walk from Seoul Botanic Park to Taqueros?

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is a 6-minute walk from Magok Station, down below LG Science Park, so it's not that far from Seoul Botanic Park. After looking around the park and walking down slowly, it was closer than I expected!

It has a similar vibe to Gadit, but with more menu variety and better value for money, so if you're looking for a family restaurant in Magok, this one's worth considering. Also, there's well-maintained greenery in the middle of LG Science Park, and with the nice weather lately, it made for a great walk 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

It's on the 2nd floor of the building, so once you take the elevator up, it's right there — easy to find.

Inside Taqueros: seating and room for groups

Taqueros has this distinctive vibe that really feels like a family restaurant. The interior's a little reminiscent of Outback, but with a spoonful of South American style mixed in?

Sofa seating table at Taqueros

There's a row of tables with sofa seating, which looked comfortable for coming with family or kids. The middle tables can be connected to seat up to 16, so it'd work well for group gatherings or company dinners too.

Center table at Taqueros that can accommodate group gatherings

I'd recommend Taqueros for gatherings, graduation parties, or birthday parties in Magok — the prices are reasonable for Mexican food too. And if you're getting together for a graduation or birthday party at Taqueros, I highly recommend booking through Naver reservations ahead of time! If you write a graduation or birthday note in the memo field when reserving, they apparently give you a free cheesecake 😚🍰

Taqueros Signature Couple Set, Apple Mango Ade

What comes in the Taqueros Signature Couple Set?

What I ordered was the Taqueros Signature Couple Set (for 2), plus an apple mango ade on the side. The Signature Couple Set comes with fajita or ribs + 2 tacos — you choose between fajita and ribs, and I picked fajita since I like it more!

When you order a set menu and pick a drink with it, the ade gets discounted to ₩3,500, so I added an apple mango ade too 🍹

Nachos come included by default. Nachos + cheese sauce.

Hot sauce and ketchup on the table

There's hot sauce and ketchup on the table by default, so I added hot sauce to the cheese sauce and it got that extra spicy kick — made the cheese sauce even tastier. Highly recommend this combo.

Apple mango ade. You definitely need something carbonated when eating tacos or South American food 🍹🍹🍺

How to eat the fajita and use the 6 sauces

Taqueros fajita is eaten by putting whatever meat, shrimp, and vegetables you like on a tortilla, then drizzling sauce on top. Just eat it like a wrap.

The fajita comes with chicken, shrimp, pork, and beef, all separated by type, with rice, onions, and vegetables laid out underneath.

Six fajita sauces including cheese sauce and guacamole

There are 6 fajita sauces — cheese sauce, guacamole, tomato, sour cream, jalapeño, and hot sauce — and all except guacamole can be refilled for free, so don't hold back and add whatever suits your taste. (Tortillas can also be refilled for free.) I kept mixing and matching as I ate, and the portion turned out to be quite a lot. By the time I finished, I was really full haha

Smoky stir-fried chicken and vegetables

The meat I liked best was the chicken — it had strong smoky, seasoned flavor, and wrapped in a tortilla it was so good. The vegetables underneath were also well-cooked and seasoned just right, so I cleaned my plate.

Chicken taco and fish taco at Taqueros

How were the chicken taco and fish taco?

The fajita was good, but the tacos at Taqueros were delicious too 🤤 The fish in the fish taco was tasty, and the chicken was good too 🌮 Good enough that if I come back, I'll definitely order extra tacos...!

With tacos, you just pick them up and eat, and since they're fried, they have a different flavor from the fajita. If you find self-assembling your own fajita like this a hassle, or if you just want tacos simply, I'd recommend these. When I want a simple taco lunch, I think I'll just order the à la carte taco menu ☺️😊☺️
