I went to Odd Bird Oliver, a brunch spot in Jeonpo, Busan, with a friend on the weekend for a meal in a nice atmosphere. To cut to the chase: the vibe was great and the food was so good my friend said she wanted to come back ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆

Where is Odd Bird Oliver, and what does it look like from outside?

Odd Bird Oliver is close to Jeonpo Station so it was easy to find, and the exterior alone had a trendy, exotic feel. It was pretty enough that plenty of people were taking photos before even going in.
Inside Odd Bird Oliver: atmosphere and table sizes
Walking inside, we were greeted by a genuinely warm space and a bright welcome. It's decorated like an exotic home, so I felt cozy and relaxed the whole meal.

There were plenty of tables, including group tables, so it looked like all kinds of groups — from young people to office get-togethers — visit here often.
Overall it had such an exotic, warm atmosphere that it felt comfortable to chat over a meal no matter who you're with. With 2-, 4-, and 6-person tables set up in a variety of configurations, it hit the spot for both my friend and me ♡

The atmosphere was so nice that even though I was there with a friend, it started to feel like a date.

The kitchen is open, which made it feel clean, and the staff kindly explained each dish as it came out, which was a nice touch.
Odd Bird Oliver menu and prices

Once we sat down, we looked through the menu :) There was everything from light salads for the morning to pasta, soup, and roast chicken.
What we ordered at Odd Bird Oliver and how it tasted

We ordered
- Bottarga aglio olio
- Bismarck focaccia sandwich
- Apple juice
like this :)

The apple juice tasted like it was made in-house — a wholesome flavor with more real apple taste than sweetness, not artificial at all, and something even young kids could enjoy.
Bottarga aglio olio at Odd Bird Oliver

The bottarga aglio olio (dried mullet roe garlic oil pasta) exceeded expectations by far, and it looked so good my appetite kicked in before I even took a bite!

The sauce didn't sit separately or feel too oily, so it was easy to eat cleanly with the noodles. Aglio olio's oil can sometimes feel heavy, but this was light and not overwhelming at all.

I love aglio olio and have had it at plenty of other places, but this made me think, huh, maybe I hadn't actually had real aglio olio until now! It wasn't strongly seasoned but had such rich umami that I kept reaching for more — it was uncanny.

And what I liked most was the bottarga itself — not mushy at all, but springy like shrimp, with the texture really intact.

If you're going here, this is a must-try — the oil alone was so good I still want more of it right now. The noodles were springy too, and the seasoning wasn't too salty, so I just kept eating without stopping ㅠㅠ
Bismarck focaccia sandwich at Odd Bird Oliver

The Bismarck focaccia sandwich is made with crispy focaccia, house-made jambon, ricotta cheese, a poached egg, and truffle oil.

Because the jambon is house-made, it wasn't salty and tasted fresh, and eating it all together with the poached egg felt genuinely wholesome.
Bread, jambon, and poached egg stacked in layers and eaten in one bite sounds like a simple combination, but it was so tasty — you could really taste the natural flavor of each ingredient, and it was satisfying through and through.

The jambon tore apart so softly it was somehow addictive, and the poached egg was so moist I ended up scraping up every last bit haha
Is Odd Bird Oliver worth a weekend brunch in Jeonpo?

A meal at Odd Bird Oliver, where you can relax and enjoy pasta and sandwiches in a warm, exotic atmosphere, was all the more satisfying for it. Between the food quality and the friendly service, it's a Jeonpo brunch spot worth visiting when you want to turn an ordinary day into something special ˚✧₊⁺
