This time I went for gopchang (grilled beef intestine) near Omokgyo, at Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch! I was extra curious since it was featured on Live Broadcast Today episode 4048's Mokdong BEST3. We ordered the couple set, which comes with mixed gopchang, beef brisket, gopchang hot pot, and even fried rice haha.
Where is Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, and what is the room like?
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is at 226-13 Mokdong-dong-ro, 1F, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. It's close to Omokgyo Station so it's easy to get to, and the tables were comfortable for larger groups. A good option to look up for a Mokdong work dinner spot or when you're after a gopchang restaurant near Omokgyo.

Side dishes at Omokgyo Gopchang: scallion kimchi, liver, cheonyeop and spicy sundubu-jjigae
Before the meat even arrived, Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch set the table generously with side dishes. House-made scallion kimchi came with liver and cheonyeop (beef stomach lining), and the liver was fresh enough to eat smoothly with no gamey taste.

A spicy sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) also came out early, which was perfect for scooping up mild spoonfuls while waiting for the gopchang lolol.

The couple set main event: 400g mixed gopchang and beef brisket
The star of the couple set is the 400g mixed gopchang! Traditional handmade garlic gopchang, hwangso gopchang, daechang, makchang, beoljipyang, and yeomtong all come out together, plated alongside beef brisket.

A dazzling fire show unfolded, and I was honestly so excited that I kept snapping photos and videos of it. Such a thoughtful touch from the owner!

The daechang had a savory pop of fat, and the makchang was noticeably chewy. Yeomtong was clean and light, while beoljipyang had a satisfying crunch — comparing the cuts as we ate was genuinely fun.

The traditional handmade garlic gopchang stood out most, with a gentle garlic aroma layering onto the gopchang's savoriness. Adding the beef brisket made the whole spread feel hearty. The signature garlic gopchang is listed as a limited daily menu item, and pairing it with the house-made scallion kimchi is presented as one of the restaurant's signatures.

For a Mokdong work dinner where everyone's tastes differ, a mixed platter is clearly the easy choice. If you're hunting for a gopchang restaurant near Omokgyo and want to try several cuts at once, this menu fits well.
How does the gopchang hot pot taste?
Midway through the couple set comes the gopchang hot pot. Eating only grilled meat can get a bit heavy after a while, but one spoonful of the spicy broth resets your palate lolol. It was rich and spicy, and paired well as a drinking snack too.

It's surprisingly thick and rich, which really works in its favor.
Finishing with a pan of Omokgyo fried rice
The couple set at Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch ends, of course, with fried rice! It's cooked with Korean beef fat, kimchi, and various ingredients right in front of you, which is fun to watch. Pressing down slightly on the bottom layer made it savory and crispy — the perfect finish.

Since there's beaten egg mixed in, you need to let it cook a bit heavier than you'd expect.

You know you're supposed to keep stirring and mixing until it forms even more scorched rice than what you'd get eating it here right away, right? And the final step is pressing it down firmly!

As they say, Koreans really do run on rice.
Verdict: is the couple set the right first order in Mokdong?
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch flowed well from the side dishes through the mixed gopchang, hot pot, and fried rice, so it felt like a proper, complete meal in one sitting. I'd recommend the couple set to first-time visitors since it lets you sample several cuts at once, and the space is comfortable enough for gatherings, making it a solid choice for a Mokdong work dinner spot.
