Kosei's seafood ceviche (27,000 won), built on autumn produce, and the monkfish liver flounder sushi, 6 pieces (21,000 won), went down well with draft beer, and the fig-and-seafood pairing plus the rich monkfish liver over flounder stood out. What kind of place is Kosei?
I heard there was an izakaya with great atmosphere in Eunam-dong, so I went to check out Kosei. Yay!!!
It's a spot where you can taste Japanese dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients — an izakaya near Eunam Station that offers something a bit different from the usual bar food.

Parking at Kosei and how to get there
There's no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant. If you're driving, search for 'Eungam 3-dong public parking lot' — it's about a 3–4 minute walk from there to Kosei.
From Eunam Station, take Exit 4, walk along Bulgwang Stream, and cross the first bridge. Head into the alley by the GS25 convenience store, and you'll spot Kosei diagonally to the right of the Chamdarae Park intersection.
From Saejeol Station, it's about 587m from Exit 1 — a nice stroll along Bulgwang Stream. I actually walked from home. The weather's been so good lately!
A Japanese izakaya tucked in an Eungam-dong alley

This Eunam Station bar had a calm, atmospheric feel right from its wood-finished exterior.

Inside, wood-toned tables mix with red walls for a warm, cozy vibe. There's also bar seating facing the kitchen, which looked great for a quiet solo drink and meal.
It really did feel comfortable for solo drinking, and it also seemed like a good spot for a date night or a small gathering.
While I was eating, an elderly couple sat across from each other, enjoying food and drinks together affectionately — it looked so lovely and full of atmosphere. It made me want to still be out enjoying good food together like that when I'm older.
This is an Eunpyeong-gu bar that suits days when you'd rather have a calm conversation over a meal than sit in a loud, rowdy bar.
Kosei's table setting and menu lineup
Once seated, plates and utensils were neatly arranged on a wooden tray.

Looking at the menu, there was a wide range from sashimi to sushi, grilled dishes, tempura, noodles, and hot pot. The drink lineup was also varied, with sake, soju, beer, and wine, so it was easy to pick something to match the food.
We ordered the seafood ceviche and the monkfish liver flounder sushi, paired with a cold draft beer.
Seafood ceviche, 27,000 won
The seafood ceviche is a Japanese-style ceviche made with autumn seafood, vegetables, and fruit.

Generously cut, fresh seafood came piled high with figs, crisp vegetables, and pear. Topped with a clear, jelly-like garnish and sauce, it looked as vibrant as it tasted.

Each bite delivered the clean flavor of the seafood, the subtle sweetness of the fruit, and the crisp texture of the vegetables all at once. It was my first time having ceviche with figs, and surprisingly, they went really well with the seafood.

The ingredients were cut big and served generously, so it was fun to eat spoonful by spoonful. It's a refreshing, appetite-opening dish — a great choice for the first order of the night.
Monkfish liver flounder sushi, 6 pieces, 21,000 won
This dish tops flounder sushi with sweetly braised monkfish liver.

Glossy flounder was generously topped with monkfish liver, finished with a touch of wasabi.
The chewy, clean flavor of the flounder paired with the rich, savory taste of the monkfish liver made for a really special combination. The wasabi cut through the richness of the liver cleanly, so it never felt heavy — I kept reaching for more.

It's not the kind of sushi you'd normally come across, and it felt like a real showcase of Kosei's distinctive style.

It paired well with the draft beer too — really enjoyed it.
