A table with Cozy Bear's salt bread and coffee in Songdo

As the weather cools down, I keep finding myself drawn to pretty terrace cafés with the smell of coffee and warm bread drifting through the air. So this time I visited a brand new, freshly opened hotspot in Songdo, Incheon — Cafe Cozy Bear!

From the cozy interior to the addictively salty-savory salt bread, the cute little tableware details, and even a decaf option — everything was so satisfying. Let me write up my honest review in full, haha.

What is Cozy Bear's outdoor terrace in Songdo like?

Cozy Bear is a salt bread bakery café located on Haedoji-ro in Songdo, Incheon, with outdoor table seating set up in front of the shop. As soon as I arrived, the charming, warm exterior caught my eye right away.

With this breezy autumn weather lately, sitting on the outdoor terrace and taking it easy is absolutely perfect!

Before we even went inside, I noticed some women sitting at an outdoor table who had ordered a whole table's worth of different salt bread flavors — basically a 'salt bread food fight' haha. Watching that, I thought, 'Whoa... that's the real deal. This place's salt bread must be seriously good!' and walked straight in as if hypnotized.

Cozy Bear's salt bread lineup and decaf coffee

Cozy Bear's display case holds everything from the basic plain salt bread to unique versions topped with all kinds of toppings and cream. As soon as I stepped inside, the buttery aroma filled the whole space — my happiness meter was already full!

Looking through the display case, the visuals were incredible. Since I'd just come from a huge lunch, I sadly couldn't try every flavor, but to check the bakery's basic skill, I ordered a plain salt bread and a clean iced Americano.

And one thing I really liked was that a decaf option was available! It's such a thoughtful touch for people sensitive to caffeine who hesitate to drink coffee in the afternoon or evening, or for pregnant visitors, who can now enjoy delicious bread with a coffee break worry-free.

How does the plain salt bread taste, and how sharp are the bread scissors?

Cozy Bear gives you tongs and a cute little pair of bread scissors along with your salt bread. My order was ready, so I picked it up — but you guys... what even are these scissors?! Hahaha.

The moment I picked up the scissors to cut the salt bread, they fit perfectly in my hand, and every cut made a crisp 'snick! snick!' sound, slicing through like paper — I was totally amazed by how sharp they were!

Usually the bread scissors a café gives you are dull, so the bread gets crushed or torn, right? But here, as cute as they looked, they sliced through cleanly like art, whatever thickness I wanted, thin or thick, haha. I've been to countless cafés, but I've genuinely never come across scissors this sharp in my life.

Cross-section of salt bread cut with the scissors

I took a bite of the salt bread with its perfectly cut cross-section! The outside was just crisp enough, the inside was chewy, and the deep, buttery richness balanced with the saltiness of sea salt was absolutely fantastic.

It was truly the textbook definition of 'salty-savory' — one bite in and I couldn't help but say 'wow, this is good...' Chatting with my friend and picking off pieces one by one, even though we'd both insisted we were full from lunch, the plate was completely empty in under five minutes haha. Seeing the plate go empty that fast, my friend and I seriously debated, 'We're full but... should we just buy one more salt bread in a different flavor?!' It was that addictive.
