Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch is a seafood restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Geukdong VIP Building on Gukhoedaero 70-gil in Yeouido, where you can enjoy everything from clam hot pot to seafood boiling in one visit. Today I'm sharing my review of this Yeouido spot where I got to try both the clam hot pot and seafood boiling in one go.
I went in with high expectations after hearing the seafood was super fresh and generous, and honestly, it really was that fresh.
Getting there, parking and group seating in Yeouido
Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch offers group seating along with free Wi-Fi, separate men's and women's restrooms, and parking, making it a great choice for family gatherings or work dinners without any hassle. Given Yeouido's office-district vibe, it's also conveniently located for coworker meetups or date nights.

Ordering the giant clam hot pot
On this visit, our pick at Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch was the giant clam hot pot. With the weather warming up, this was our pick of the day! Check the photo for the full menu.
We grabbed sauce containers from the self-bar and got everything set up nicely (cheongyang chili peppers ready too).
What comes in the giant clam hot pot?
Fan mussel, scallop, mussels, whole squid, shrimp, and fish cake — a whole variety of seafood came out packed generously in one pot, and the squid was already cut up into bite-sized pieces for us.
The visuals alone were overwhelming. True to the claim that everything's sourced fresh from clean waters every morning, each piece of seafood was so fresh the broth had a clean taste with no fishy smell at all.
How the clam broth tastes with cheongyang chili
The clam broth was so refreshing and deep-flavored that I kept spooning it up. I grabbed some cheongyang chili from the self-bar and dumped it in — it turned out spicy and delicious.
The umami coming out of all that seafood together...! Just pure truth.
The clams were plump and full of meat, so good to chew, and topping them with cheese made it even better — pure honey.
Finishing the pot with fresh-cut kalguksu
The finale of the giant clam hot pot at Gaetbeol-ui Jogae Yeouido Main Branch is fresh kalguksu (hand-cut noodles). It's kalguksu time — and get this, fresh-cut noodles, not dried! Just drop them into the boiling broth and cook them through.
Noodles soaked in all that clam broth — you already know how good that is. Chewy and satisfying. Such a filling meal, haha ><
