Haenggung-dong, Suwon course dinner with two bisque pastas: Hado
In short
Hado is a course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, serving a basic course and a summer course. After a movie, a table for two booked at 8pm took the counter seats and ordered the basic course for two at 45,000 won per person, a 21,000-won chuck flap steak upgrade, two bisque pastas and a green grape ade, with the open kitchen putting every step of the cooking in view. Ordering the same pasta twice was the one regret at Hado — pick two different ones and share.

What kind of place is Hado in Haenggung-dong, Suwon?
Hado is a course restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro near Haenggung-dong in Suwon, serving two menus: a basic course and a summer course. I was near Haenggung-dong to catch a movie and wanted a nice dinner afterward, so I ended up at Hado! They have a summer course and a basic course. Let's get straight to the review~!!!!
Where do you park near Hado?
There's a public parking lot, Gyodong Public Parking Lot, right next door. It's cheap and the spaces are a bit tight, but it's decent for parking. Since it's literally the next building over, I'd recommend parking there. Regular cars get 1 hour free, EVs get 2 hours free. The rates after that are so cheap you could park there and go wander around too.

Today's spot! There's a Coupang building right behind Hado, which feels a bit out of place haha.
The entrance already looked so upscale that my expectations went sky-high before I even stepped in.

The basic course and summer course were listed right at the entrance.

The whole place looked stylishly put together.
Counter seats or table seats at Hado: which should you take?
At Hado they tell you to sit wherever you like, so we took the counter seats~ There are also tables, so just sit where you want. At the tables you can even listen to music — bring your own earphones or rent some, and bring your own CD or rent one.
Apparently you pick a CD here and play it at your seat.
The shop has coat hangers and blankets ready, so we could eat comfortably.
It's a completely open kitchen, so you can see the cooking happening in full haha. Since we were at the counter seats, we had an even better view!!!!

Here's the table setting shot! Very clean, put-together look.

What we ordered at Hado and what it cost
We ordered the basic course for two, ₩45,000 x 2, upgraded one to chuck flap steak +₩21,000, two bisque pastas, and a green grape ade ₩6,000 ʚ₍ᐢꕤ⸝⸝> ̫ <⸝⸝ᐢ₎ɞ

The green grape ade and the cutlery came out right away! Even the cutlery was arranged with pretty pins, which I thought showed great taste.
Starters: pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart
We'd booked for 8pm, and the course started 10 minutes later. Pea tart and sweet apple tart.
They looked so cute! Bigger than I expected, too!

The pea tart was sweetish, a healthy kind of delicious haha. It used pea purée, which felt like it added an even more natural flavor?

The sweet shrimp apple tart had potato tucked in the middle, which balanced it well. The apple gave a crisp, sweet bite and the shrimp added a plump, savory note — honestly this one was even better haha.

Bisque pasta: the mistake of ordering the same one twice
Next up, bisque pasta! It looks like a small portion but it wasn't that small — good portion size. The bowl even came out warm, which I thought showed real thoughtfulness.

The dish was hot and the seasoning was spot on. The pasta was cooked to a nice al dente, and the shrimp were large but grilled well.
You could really taste the shrimp and shellfish flavor in the pasta. The shrimp roe was large too, easy to eat. The table next to us ordered vongole, and its look was insane. We regretted not ordering one vongole ourselves haha. If you order here, I'd recommend getting two different dishes and sharing. We were such fools.

Mains: chicken breast steak and chuck flap steak
Chicken breast steak! The look of it was so good. It didn't even resemble a chicken breast cut. They said it was topped with quinoa.
They explained it was sous vide cooked to keep it tender, paired with carrot purée for even more softness. When cutting, instead of sawing back and forth, you should press straight down — it cuts much more cleanly that way, so give that a try.
The quinoa crust gave it a crispy exterior, which made the texture fun too. The carrot purée was genuinely delicious.

Chuck flap steak with wine sauce and potato purée!
It was cooked to a nice medium-rare and had good meaty aroma haha.
They said the sauce was made in-house too haha. Sweet and tangy, a refreshing flavor!

Dessert: Earl Grey ice cream
Last, dessert was Earl Grey ice cream. The combination of caramel sauce and coffee cookie was delicious. This was the best thing here.

Ate well and headed out haha - ̗̀ෆ(˶'ᵕ'˶)ෆ ̖́-
