Daejeon pork belly restaurant with spicy buldak dip: Imdaejang Dunsan
In short
Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch is a pork belly (samgyeopsal) restaurant in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, near Galleria Timeworld, serving 100% Korean-raised pork. A couple ordered the 510g pork belly platter for 44,000 won plus haejang ramyeon (hangover ramyeon) for 4,900 won and a Korean-pork doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) given free for a receipt review, and liked dipping minari and enoki mushrooms into the spicy buldak (fire chicken) sauce they first mistook for salted-anchovy dip. Since the meat arrives fully grilled on one platter, Imdaejang is an easy, hands-off pork belly spot in Dunsan-dong.

My husband and I wanted pork belly and soju one weekend, so we headed to Imdaejang in Dunsan-dong.

They use 100% domestic Korean pork (han-don), and the moment we tried the samgyeopsal (pork belly), we both went "wow"! Chewy yet tender, with a savory flavor that got better the more we chewed.

On top of that, we didn't have to grill the meat ourselves — it came out already grilled on the platter, so eating was really easy. Let me walk you through everything we tried, from the pork belly to the doenjang-jjigae rice and the haejang ramyeon.😊
Where is Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch, and where do you park?

Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch is near Galleria Timeworld. Parking is always the trickiest part of making plans in Dunsan-dong.

It's especially hard to find parking around the area across from Timeworld. But here, you can use the Nokwon Building underground parking lot free for 2 hours, so it was convenient even if we drove.
- Hours: Mon–Thu, Sun 16:00–24:00 / Fri–Sat 16:00–1:00 next day
- Parking: Free 2 hours at the building's underground lot
The interior had a cozy, wood-toned feel overall, and the staff were friendly, so we had a comfortable meal together.
What two people ordered at Imdaejang, and what it cost

Since there were two of us, we ordered:
- Samgyeop-hanpan 510g — ₩44,000
- Han-don doenjang-jjigae — review service
- Steamed rice
- Haejang ramyeon — ₩4,900
- Soju
That's what we had.
The basic side dishes were dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth, jang (seasoned sauce), myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves), and pickled onion! Think that's too few side dishes?

The samgyeop-hanpan comes with various vegetables and mushrooms.

The samgyeop-hanpan is meant for 2–3 people at 510g, so the portion was quite generous for the two of us to enjoy with soju.
How does the 510g pork belly platter taste?
Above all, the meat here was genuinely delicious.

They use grade-1 domestic pork, and you can really taste the meat's own savory flavor from the first bite.

The pork belly wasn't tough at all — chewy yet tender, with a savory flavor that came up more the more we chewed. My husband and I kept saying, "The meat here is really good," over and over.

It's up there as one of the best pork bellies I've had recently, totally my style.😊
The pork belly arrives fully grilled, so there is nothing to flip
And another perk of Imdaejang! You don't have to grill the pork belly yourself at the table.

They bring it out on the platter already grilled to perfection, with minari (water dropwort), enoki mushrooms, kimchi, and garlic piled generously on top. Best of all, the meat stays warm the whole time we ate.
Not salted-anchovy dip: Imdaejang's spicy buldak sauce
And there was something here that really hit my personal taste.
At first glance, I assumed it was myeoljeot (salted anchovy dip). But when I tasted it, it was actually that spicy fire-chicken-style sauce that's so trendy right now!

Dip the pork belly right into the sauce, and the spiciness adds to the savory meat, keeping you eating without ever feeling greasy.

Definitely try dipping the enoki mushrooms and minari that come grilled alongside into the sauce too. They pair so well with the spicy sauce that I kept dipping everything I could.

If you love spicy food, you have to try this sauce.🌶️
Leave a receipt review for a free stew or pork skin
When we visited, they were running a receipt review event.
If you write a Naver receipt review, you can choose either a half order of pork skin or one type of stew.
We chose the han-don doenjang-jjigae. It had meat in it, and the portion was plenty for us to share.

We ordered a bowl of rice and just dumped it straight into the stew.

Eating it this way, it felt like a rich, savory doenjang rice bowl for drinking (sulbap)!

Perfect for scooping up between bites of pork belly and sips of soju.
Ending the meal with spicy haejang ramyeon for 4,900 won

We'd already had the pork belly and the doenjang sulbap, but it felt too soon to leave, so we ordered the haejang ramyeon for ₩4,900 too.😂 The broth was spicy and rich, and the noodles were well seasoned — it was genuinely better than expected.

You know that craving for a spicy broth after pork belly? This hit right at that moment, cutting through any greasiness, and after a bit of soju, it really did feel like a hangover cure, true to its name.haha
Free soft-serve ice cream for dessert
At the end, soft-serve ice cream was free too! 🍦
After the pork belly and the spicy ramyeon, finishing with sweet, cold ice cream was a great way to end. Pork belly → doenjang sulbap → haejang ramyeon → ice cream. We really ate our way through the whole menu.😂
Verdict after eating at Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch

Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch stuck with us most for how good the pork belly itself was. The chewy yet tender texture unique to 100% domestic Korean pork, plus that savory flavor that builds the more you chew!
On top of that, the meat comes out already grilled on the platter for easy eating, and dipping it — along with the minari and enoki mushrooms — into the spicy fire-chicken sauce was such a great combination.

If you're looking for a spot in Dunsan-dong for a date with your husband or pork belly and soju with friends, consider Imdaejang Daejeon Dunsan Branch next time you're hunting for good Dunsan-dong pork belly.😊
