This is one of the few restaurants in Daegu known for serious Indian curry cooking. The original branch is in Dongseong-ro, and today I visited the Suseong Lake branch of Rama & Bavana, planning a walk around Suseong Lake since the weather was so pleasant.

A restaurant near Suseong Lake with no parking worries
One of the most satisfying things about this visit was, without question, how convenient the parking was.

Restaurants near Suseong Lake often have tight parking, making it hard to find a spot, but this place has its own well-arranged parking space in the building, so parking was easy. The building's softly lit signage also made it easy to spot the store at night.
The location is just before you reach Suseong Hotel — not far off the main area at all.

Wood-toned interior atmosphere
Stepping inside, I was greeted by a clean, warm wood-toned interior.

On one wall, a neatly engraved English logo stood alongside a separate wooden waiting chair for guests, giving the place a stylish feel.

Overall, the space felt clean and cozy — a comfortable environment to enjoy a meal.

Beef curry and naan — how do they taste?
After looking over the menu, I ordered the restaurant's signature beef curry, tandoori tikka, and naan to go with the curry.

The main dish, beef curry, featured a deep reddish curry sauce packed with big chunks of beef. One bite in, the moderately spicy blend of spices cleanly cut through the richness of the beef that could otherwise feel heavy, leaving a gentle lingering heat and a thick sauce that seemed tailored to Korean palates without being overly assertive. The beef in the curry was tender, not tough, giving the dish a well-finished feel.

The naan that came with it was fresh out of the clay oven, still warm. The surface was golden and crisp while the inside stayed chewy and light, with a nutty flavor that grew the more you chewed — excellent texture.

Tearing the grilled naan into bite-sized pieces and dipping it deep into the rich beef curry, the spicy sauce and nutty naan came together perfectly.

The tandoori tikka: composition and taste
Next came the tandoori tikka, which was substantial from the visuals to the composition. A big chicken skewer, nicely grilled shrimp skewers, fresh salad, and rice were all generously piled on one plate. A savory dressing drizzled over it made the dish look even more appetizing.

What impressed me most about the tandoori tikka was how well-cooked the ingredients were and how the spices harmonized. Both the shrimp and chicken were evenly cooked through over gentle flame, keeping them moist rather than dry. The garam masala flavor was well-balanced — present without overpowering the natural taste of the meat and shrimp, while lifting the dish's deep Indian flavor. The chicken had no gamey smell and was tender, the shrimp had a springy bite, and the harmony with the subtle spices felt perfect.
