Where is Hyangtaek Daebong Branch, and how do parking and high chairs work?

Hyangtaek Daebong Branch is just a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gyeongbuk University Hospital Station. If you're driving, they can support parking at the Kim Kwang-seok Street public parking lot!

Parking around Kim Kwang-seok Street is usually a headache, so having public lot support really helped! And they've got a baby chair ready too!🐣 Moms, let's enjoy a wholesome, tidy meal in comfort✨

Inside Hyangtaek: wood interiors and a giant iron cauldron

The wooden interior gives off such a serene feeling!! I didn't expect to find a spot like this smack in the middle of the city ...✨ I thought you'd only feel this out in the countryside, but it's so healing here-🍀

What caught my eye was a huge iron cauldron! Is this where they cook the rice ...?🍚✨ I'm getting excited ,,💖

Mackerel gondre rice, 14,000 won

A whole, thick fillet of nicely browned mackerel sits on top! Underneath, the aroma of gondre (mountain thistle greens) and toasted sesame drifts up, so savory🤤

Wow.. look how beautifully browned it is? Freshly grilled, still steaming. Besides the mackerel and gondre greens, there are even nicely browned grilled mushrooms!

Mixing it all up, sswiksswik hahaha.

Once it's well mixed, wrapping it in the gim (seaweed) that comes with it makes for an easy-on-the-stomach, satisfying bite! Preparing, trimming, and cooking all these different ingredients yourself at home is such a hassle...! But I still want to eat this healthily,,,😂

Looking at another table, I saw a family eating with their elementary-school kids! Must be such a nutritious meal for children too haha. Since there's a baby chair, feel free to bring young kids along haha.

Eggplant doenjang rice bowl, 13,000 won

Neatly, nicely browned chunks of eggplant sit on top in generous pieces! Along with the eggplant, it's loaded with minced meat and minced chives, and the eggplant fragrance blended so well and smelled amazing!

As it mixes together, the aroma,,,🤤 I was practically drooling.

A big scoop of chunky eggplant with chives and minced meat all together-! If it were just eggplant I feel like I'd get hungry again fast, but with the minced meat too, the fullness lasts a lot longer-!💪🏻

Hanpan beoseot mushroom plate, 6,000 won

As a side dish, we got hanpan beoseot (fried mushroom sheet)! Thinly and crispily fried, the mushroom aroma was so nutty!

Tearing it apart in strips hahaha.

Crispy on the outside, and since the mushroom is sliced thin and wide, the mushroom fragrance spread fragrantly with every bite! Perfect to snack on between bites of the main dish — there's a reason it's a side dish! Truly a special little extra!

Is Hyangtaek good for a meal with parents or a date?

Every dish came out mild and neatly presented, not overly seasoned, which made me think this place would be great for bringing your parents or for a date with your partner✨
