Where is With Gopchang & Makchang Dongseong-ro Branch?

Today I'm introducing With Gopchang & Makchang Dongseong-ro Branch, located in Dongseong-ro, Daegu! It's near Banwoldang Station on Daegu's Line 2, so it's easy to find, and it's tucked in an alley, which made the search kind of fun haha 😮

Inside With Gopchang: window seats with an outdoor-pub feel

I visited early! Once you climb up to the 2nd floor, there are so many tables inside — great for a work dinner, club gathering, or any group outing‼️

There were also tables by the window like this — everyone's looking for that outdoor-tent vibe these days, right?

It really does give off that outdoor-tent atmosphere?! With the weather cooling down, it felt like eating outside, and the breeze was so nice haha

There was also a restroom inside!

And......!!! The shop actually keeps a pet rabbit ㅠㅠ I got to give it some food, and isn't it just too cute...🥺🥺 This is the first time I've seen a rabbit living inside a restaurant‼️

That little mouth munching away is way too cute..🫶🏻 Its name is Timo haha

With Gopchang menu and ordering rules

With Gopchang's signature dishes are vegetable gopchang, vegetable cheese gopchang, and sundae stir-fry, and all of these have to be ordered per person! With Makchang has grilled makchang and seasoned grilled makchang, and grilled makchang requires a minimum order of 2 servings, though you can add just 1 serving afterward!

If you write a receipt review, you get a free patbingsu — so writing a review while you eat is a no-brainer?! It's one per review, so if you write two, you get two — perfect for coming with friends!!

Side dishes served at With Gopchang

For side dishes, they gave us corn salad, garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), beondegi (silkworm pupae), pickled onion, fruit cocktail, wrap vegetables, and even steamed egg 🫶🏻 The wrap vegetables were really fresh too!!

We ordered one serving of vegetable gopchang, one serving of vegetable cheese gopchang, and added sundae (blood sausage) noodles on top! Everything comes fully cooked, so it was so convenient to just dig in right away 💕

With the added sundae, plus onion, cabbage, perilla leaves, glass noodles, and gopchang — the portion was so huge it didn't even feel like just 2 servings‼️

The cheese gopchang and vegetable gopchang were served separately — the cheese portion was generous and had its own charm compared to the plain vegetable gopchang, both delicious!

It was great eaten with the pickled onion, and also great wrapped in the fresh lettuce!

Big portions didn't mean bad flavor at all — the gopchang, vegetables, glass noodles, and sundae were all seasoned so well that I kept gasping in delight with every bite •• The gopchang had no gamey smell at all, so tasty! This is exactly the kind of look and taste that makes you crave a drink 🍺

Why we ordered the steamed egg twice

We finished the steamed egg before the gopchang even arrived, so we ended up ordering one more! The steamed egg was fluffy, and the sesame oil added extra nuttiness — we just had to get a second one 🥹

Eating the steamed egg together with the gopchang was delicious too‼️‼️

Finishing with 2,000 won fried rice

The proper way to finish vegetable gopchang is with fried rice, right ㅠㅠ It was only ₩2,000, but the portion was... insane. How can you get this much food at this price? In this era of rising prices, this place makes no sense 🥹 Being able to walk out this full for this cheap — thank you so much, owner 😋😋

Is With Gopchang & Makchang worth it? Final verdict

Since it's tucked in an alley, it might be hard to find at first, but the owner kindly wrote up directions on Naver Map, so just follow that and you'll find it fine! These days there's nowhere else selling vegetable gopchang this cheap — this place was truly a different world ••🥹

And the portions were really huge! Two of us ate, and they gave us so much we were stuffed to bursting, so grateful 😋😊 The ratio of gopchang to vegetables was just right, and there was no gamey smell, so even people who usually can't handle the smell could probably enjoy this‼️ The fried rice portion was huge for the price too! Next time I want vegetable gopchang in Dongseong-ro, this is the only place I'll go 💕
