Yukhoe bibimbap at a Daejeon Doan-dong hanwoo restaurant: Worang
In short
Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch is a hanwoo (Korean beef) butcher restaurant with 17 private rooms near Doan Lake Park in Seo-gu, Daejeon. The writer visited with her baby and her dad, booked a private room in advance, and ordered two servings of seasoned galbi (marinated short rib) with yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl); the table was already set, so the meal felt unhurried. Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch is a solid pick for a quiet family birthday or anniversary when you want a room to yourselves.

Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch

A meal out with dad and the baby at Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch
Today I went on a long-overdue date with my dad (my baby came along too haha) to 'Worang Myeongga' in Doan-dong, Daejeon. Since I was bringing the baby, I wanted a slightly easier meal, so I booked a reservation in advance. We were shown to a private room, and thanks to that we got to eat comfortably with the baby :)
Hours and parking: right by Doan Lake Park

11:00 - 22:00 (daily) / 15:00 - 17:00 (break time) / 21:30 (last order)
It's close to Doan Lake Park, so it's an easy place to get to, and you can park in the building's underground or ground-level lot. As soon as we arrived, the Worang Myeongga sign caught my eye from out front, and the place looked pretty sizeable — I was already excited before even going in.

17 private rooms for family gatherings and work dinners
Walking inside, there's hall seating as well as separate rooms, so it seems like a good fit for family gatherings or work dinners with a bigger group. (Worang Myeongga has 17 private rooms and can seat up to 200 people.)

I was shown to a room today, and since I'd reserved ahead, the table setting was already prepared — clean and quiet, which I really liked. Even before eating, it already felt fancy >_<✨

What we ordered: seasoned galbi for two plus yukhoe bibimbap
I ordered seasoned galbi x2 + yukhoe bibimbap today. Like me, you can order grilled or single dishes, but there's also a butcher counter where you can pick the exact meat you want!

I admired it with my eyes first, and the color of the meat looked so good that just looking at it made me want to eat it all >< Being able to check the raw meat's condition and freshness yourself and choose the cut you want seems like such a great system. (Top-grade 1++ hanwoo)

Our order came out in the room, and I fell for the visuals right away......! Round two of excitement! haha

How does the seasoned galbi taste?
Grilling the galbi and eating it with rice
We quickly put the meat on the grill, and once that delicious smell rose up, I got even hungrier and started drooling. 🤤
I tried the seasoned galbi first. The seasoning wasn't overwhelmingly strong — it was a flavor that went well with the meat, and it also paired nicely with rice.

The seasoning had soaked into the meat well, so it was tasty on its own, and it also went great with rice!

Side dishes and the self-serve bar
Every single side dish was tasty, and eating them together made everything even more delicious. Besides the basic table setting, you can grab anything extra you need from the self-serve bar! 🫶🏻

Yukhoe bibimbap: enough for two to share
It felt like a shame to eat only meat, so we also ordered yukhoe bibimbap. Mixing the raw beef and vegetables into the rice, it went really well alongside the seasoned galbi!

The portion was generous, so my dad and I split it haha
After going back and forth on where to take my dad for a long-overdue date, this ended up being the place — and I was really satisfied with both the atmosphere and the taste. Especially for a family birthday or anniversary when you want to eat somewhere a bit quiet, book a room ahead and give it a try! Totally recommend it! Next time I'll have to try some of the other hanwoo dishes too 🥩🤎
