Worang Myeongga Doan is the Doan-dong meat restaurant our family visits once a month without fail. We recently went for my parents' 60th birthday celebration, and this time we came for our baby's birthday. Somehow every family occasion ends up bringing us back to Worang Myeongga 🌸

A Doan-dong room restaurant with 17 private rooms and space for 200

Here's the interior of Worang Myeongga Doan. The overall vibe is clean and upscale.

The hall seating is also well arranged for comfortable dining, and up to 8 people can eat together there.

Every table has this little side table, which was great for setting down water or drinks (you know how much space those things end up taking up on the main table 😂).

Here's why I recommend Worang Myeongga Doan 🙌🏻 There are so many rooms on both sides. I honestly haven't seen many restaurants with this many rooms lately..? There are 17 private rooms in total, and the restaurant can accommodate up to 200 people for groups. If you're looking for a room restaurant for family meals, gatherings, or group dinners, I really recommend Worang Myeongga Doan.

The inside of the rooms is also clean, comfortable, and just the right size.

Pick your own beef from the butcher fridge (70,000-200,000 won)

Worang Myeongga is a butcher restaurant, so the system is that you choose your own meat from the fridge and pay for it. It's all two-plus grade hanwoo, so the quality is really good, with prices ranging from the ₩70,000s up to the ₩200,000s.

What's on the menu besides grilled beef?

For dishes besides beef, check the menu board.

  • Beef tripe and small intestine, seasoned ribs, beef sashimi, beef tartare, brisket
  • Galbitang (rib soup), hot-pot bulgogi, hanwoo bibimbap with beef tartare, hanwoo hot stone bibimbap
  • Hanwoo rice soup, hanwoo bulgogi, cold noodles

Worang Myeongga Doan really has it all. They even sell wine to go with the beef 🍷

Central self-bar with mushrooms and lettuce wraps

The central self-bar has mushrooms, lettuce wraps, oranges, and cherry tomatoes. I'm a total mushroom fanatic, so I loved being able to eat as many mushrooms as I wanted 🙇🏻‍♀️🌸

Full spread set out after the grill is lit

The set table of banchan, with steamed egg refilled twice

Once the grill is lit, they set out a spread so full the table practically groans.

The side dishes... they put a proper hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) place to shame. Everything is so delicious (especially the seasoned marinated crab!). Whoever's cooking in the kitchen has serious skill.

Hanwoo rice soup served as a small taste

This hanwoo rice soup that comes out as a little taste is excellent too. We always get it packed to go and eat it again at home 🙉

This steamed egg is also part of the basic spread, and our baby eats it so well that she always ends up having seconds.

The 95,800-won mixed hanwoo platter, enough for three

Here's the mixed hanwoo platter we picked out. For ₩95,800, three of us ate until we were full.

We cooked it to just the right doneness ~~

For the first bite, I tried it with just a light dip of salt. It melted in my mouth... and the rich, deep beef flavor really comes through.

With a bit of wasabi on top of the salted pollock roe, the flavor really fills out.

Even our two-year-old eats it happily when it's cut up like this hahahaha

Finishing with cold buckwheat noodles (mul-naengmyeon)

We finished with cold water noodles for dessert! It's the mild, understated kind of noodles similar to Pyongyang-style naengmyeon. It cuts cleanly through the richness of the meat.

At the entrance there's also ice cream and a coffee machine,

and if you leave a receipt review, you can also get snow ice dessert.
