Cheonan sushi restaurant for uni and sweet shrimp: Ganghan Sushi

There’s one place I always go to whenever I’m craving sushi in Cheonan. It’s Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch (강한초밥 천안불당점), a great sushi spot in Cheonan : ) They deliver too, so I order from here often when I want delivery sushi~!

It’s in Buldang-dong, and parking is available! You get 3 hours free at First Plaza! The parking lot is spacious, but it can fill up during peak meal times, so I recommend avoiding those hours.

From sushi to rice bowls and pork cutlets

There are so many choices. Beyond the sushi, rice lovers can have a rice bowl, and they sell pork cutlets too!! The restaurant is on the small side, so there was a wait around noon. There were quite a few people eating alone too. I was dining solo as well! : )

If it’s your first visit, try the Ganghan Special Sushi or Omakase Sushi. Omakase Sushi is my favorite. You get a varied, well-put-together selection of sushi in the ₩20,000 range, and it also comes with udon and a seafood cutlet like a set meal!

The tableware was neatly arranged at every table, and I liked having pickled ginger, pickled shallots, and soy sauce right there too~!

I usually get the omakase sushi, but that day I wanted two-piece sushi, so I ordered everything individually like this : )!

Seafood cutlet, udon, and doenjang soup

I didn’t even order a set, but Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch prepares all of this with your order. It’s seriously so delicious. The seafood cutlet salad in particular is insanely crisp. I’ve had it delivered too, and I love that it still arrives at home nice and crispy!

I ordered ten pieces like this, and it was seriously so much food that I felt stuffed, plus it was delicious. With a drink, it came to around ₩30,000. Without a drink, you can eat in the ₩20,000 range, so it’s reasonably priced too!

Uni gunkan sushi

First up is the uni gunkan sushi I love. The sea urchin roe was moist and soft, so delicious, and it was unbelievably fresh too—it just melted away in my mouth.

Sweet shrimp uni sushi

Chewy sweet shrimp paired with uni! If you love that rich, creamy, moist kind of bite, I really recommend this combination! At ₩8,500 it is a little pricey, but once you try it, you’ll never forget it.,.,, So incredibly rich~

Superior premium fresh salmon sushi

For salmon sushi, I ordered the fresh salmon sushi. It comes with onion on top, so I had one with the onion and one plain. The salmon was seriously so fresh, you know? : ) Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is truly a salmon specialist. It wasn’t soft or mushy at all—just springy and absolutely delicious.

The fresh salmon just melted in my mouth too. Everyone, try one with onion and one without, so you can taste it in its pure form!

Flounder and aged kimchi combination

3 kg extra-large flounder belly sushi

Flounder is honestly my favorite among white fish. I think they said they were giving me something other than the flounder belly sushi that day. I can’t remember exactly ㅠㅠ But it was seriously delicious!!!

The flounder sushi at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch had the most incredible chew. The salmon and flounder were both seriously fresh and so, so good.

They gave me aged kimchi (mukeunji) last time too, and they did again this time, so I put it on top of the flounder. How could anyone resist aged kimchi plus flounder? Absolutely impossible. I totally recommend this combination too.

I got the 2-hour free parking applied, so there was plenty of time to relax and enjoy my meal. I think I’ve had Ganghan Sushi delivered at least ten times already, haha. I’ve come back again and again and again, so I really, truly recommend it!!
