Cheonan sushi restaurant raw salmon bomb rice bowl: Ganghan Sushi

Is there a wait at 1pm at Ganghan Sushi in Buldang-dong, Cheonan?

Going to Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch at 1pm meant walking straight in with no wait. There are six tables total, and we were shown to a seat right away.

Mom wasn't home that day.. so it was just me and dad haha. We sat around wondering — if we go at 1, after the lunch rush, won't the line be gone?? So I talked dad into it! And sure enough, just as I hoped, there was no wait.

While we waited, I watched a staff member clear and reset the table — clean, and shockingly fast!! And really friendly too!!

The table drawer and how ordering works at Ganghan Sushi

Opening the drawer next to us, everything we needed for the meal was neatly lined up — cups, utensils, napkins, wet wipes, sauce dishes. Then we looked over the menus~

We ordered right at the table. Each dish had a photo and description, which I loved because it let us see the difference in ingredients between menu items (I'd personally been curious about how the sushi sets differed from each other).

Buldang-dong parking: 2 hours free for Ganghan Sushi diners

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch offers 2 hours of free parking in the building's underground lot. There's a self-registration tablet near the entrance. (A huge plus in Buldang-dong!!!)

What comes with the meal: miso soup, croquette salad, fish cake udon

They set down miso soup, croquette salad, and fish cake udon for us! Overall the flavors were clean, not too salty.

I'm personally not a fan of overly salty miso soup, so this was great. The croquette was fried fresh, so it was crispy as expected! A good appetite-opener before the meal. The udon — my small personal opinion is it might've been nice with a bit of spice haha.

Dad's pick: the 12-piece omakase sushi

Dad ordered the omakase sushi without egg sushi at Ganghan Sushi. It's a 12-piece set, and by the time he'd eaten 9 pieces, he said he was already too full haha.

Ta-da! The omakase sushi has arrived! (Apparently when the sushi is lined up like this, you're supposed to start from the white fish on the left and work toward the seasoned sushi!)

By the time he'd eaten 9 of the 12 pieces.. dad said he was way too full hahahahahaha. He'd only ever had conveyor-belt sushi before, but he said the sushi here isn't overpriced relative to the ingredients and effort put in, and that it was delicious, filling, and satisfying! Hehe, so proud!

What does the raw salmon bomb rice bowl taste like?

What I ordered was Ganghan Sushi's raw salmon bomb rice bowl! It comes in a lunch-box style container, with sweet egg strips, thick and fresh salmon, some kind of wasabi-mayo sauce, and shredded onion underneath.

(The way it comes in a little lunch box is so cute ㅜㅠㅜ!!) It was so delicious. (I underestimated it, but as I ate, I realized the portion was bigger than I expected.) This place isn't just good at sushi. Everyone, please try the rice bowls too..!! Haha.

The rice is seasoned nicely on its own, so honestly you could eat just the rice and it'd be delicious... They sprinkle on that kids'-rice-ball seasoning powder haha. Not a hint of fishiness in the salmon!! And the onion wasn't spicy at all!!

Now I understand why people wait in line here at lunchtime. (With so few tables, a lot of people seem to get takeout too.) Dad and I ate so well, a rare sushi date together~ we left patting our full stomachs, and

There's a slope going in and out the door at Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch. It's a downhill(?), so be careful!! A little tip haha.

Oh, they don't have a break time here!! Didn't know that hahaha. Great quality, thick cuts,,!! Approved!
