Non-spicy dumpling hot pot lunch near Sono Belle Cheonan: Omi Omi
In short
Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch is a Korean restaurant a five-minute drive from Sono Belle Cheonan in Chungnam. Before heading to the Ocean Adventure water park, the writer ordered two servings of handmade dumpling hot pot at 15,000 won per serving, asked for it non-spicy so her child could eat it too, and refilled sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) and ramyeon noodles for free at the self-serve bar. With shabu-style meat, shrimp and big handmade dumplings in the pot, Omi Omi made a satisfying lunch for a family with a young child.

After our last trip to Inspire Splash Bay, my kid started saying "I want to go to a water park!" so we headed to Cheonan Ocean Adventure at Sono Belle Cheonan before it got too cold outside.
The weather was great, but it was a bit chilly for a water park, so we figured we should eat something warming beforehand! That's how we found today's spot: Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch. I love naengmyeon (cold noodles) and my son loves dumplings, so this was the perfect menu choice for us.
How to get from Sono Belle Cheonan to Omi Omi, and where to park
Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon is a five-minute drive from Sono Belle Cheonan! You might think five minutes isn't that close, but honestly, there's nothing else around between Sono Belle and Omi Omi haha, so it's basically the closest restaurant, guaranteed.

We'd had a lazy brunch before heading out so our whole family was starving. I was worried there might be a wait, but the place was so huge that worry disappeared instantly. With a space this size, tables must turn over fast!!

Omi Omi is open from 11 AM to 9 PM! Apparently "Omi Omi" means "tasting five flavors." I thought it was some Chungcheong-dialect thing like "womi-womi, so darn tasty" haha.

Since the restaurant is big, the parking lot is big too, so no worries there! Of course it can fill up during lunch (ours was full), but cars clear out fast so parking wasn't actually a hassle.
Inside Omi Omi: the dining room, the menu and whether kids can eat here

The inside was even bigger than it looked from outside — I was surprised. We arrived a little before Sunday lunch rush, and customers kept streaming in after us, so I was glad we'd come early haha. It's apparently a genuinely famous dumpling spot in Cheonan.

Here's Omi Omi's menu! Since my kid can't finish a full serving on his own, we ordered two servings of the handmade dumpling hot pot. They also offer a non-spicy version, which made it perfect for a restaurant to bring a baby to.

The side dishes were simple, just this much! But there were so many main-dish components coming that we barely had time to pick at the sides lol.

Handmade dumpling hot pot, 15,000 won per serving, with steamed dumplings included
Steamed dumplings come standard with the hot pot order! At first I thought they were meant to go into the pot, but you can also just eat them as-is — they give them to you as a bonus. WOW... they're handmade dumplings pinched right there (we could actually see them being made from our seat), and they're seriously huge.

And here it is — the handmade dumpling hot pot. Only ₩15,000 per serving! Shabu-style meat, shrimp, giant dumplings, and vegetables — this is basically a full shabu-shabu?????

Looking back at it again, that dumpling hot pot was such a steal haha, now I want it again all of a sudden.

Unlimited sujebi and ramyeon at Omi Omi's self-serve bar
At Omi Omi's self-serve bar you can get unlimited side dishes, ramyeon noodles, and sujebi dough! And since you tear the sujebi dough in yourself, my son had even more fun eating.
Seriously... why didn't Omi Omi exist when I was in school. I would've come eat here every day. Guess I'll have to make quarterly trips from now on haha. I can't stop thinking about the taste.

This sauce is genuinely amazing too. Seems to have some mustard in it, but it's not spicy, so my son happily drizzled it on his dumplings too.

Look at how packed the dumpling filling is. These are precious dumplings stuffed full of healthy shiitake mushrooms and pricey fernbrake. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Sono Belle Cheonan, look at this — it's genuinely insane. Also a great dumpling spot if you're near the Independence Hall of Korea.

Dipping the meat and veggies in the sauce and eating them right away is delicious, and there's glass noodles in there too, so it's fun fishing those out. Nothing lacking, nothing to complain about — just a fully satisfying flavor.

Taste-size kudzu naengmyeon, coffee and candy to finish
And here's the taste-size naengmyeon that comes with the dumpling hot pot order. Just about one chopstick's worth. It came with spicy sauce mixed in by default, so I couldn't share it with my son, but honestly, if it hadn't had the spicy sauce, he would've stolen it all from me haha. Genuinely one of the best naengmyeon I've had.

There was dessert coffee available too, plus traditional yeot (Korean taffy) for sale.

Candy was free too! The photo makes it look like he's grabbing a handful, but he only ate one. He kept getting peppermint and cinnamon candies and carefully picked through several times (since the bowl was too high for him to see into, he was just feeling around with his fingertips). When he finally picked a strawberry candy and popped it in his mouth, it was so cute haha.
